Going to be missing on the site for most of my time away. Going to be back with the family camping, hunting, and fishing over the 4th weekend. I will post and reply when I have coverage, but will be focusing on the trip and my family, so don't count on that much activity out of me Wink

Oh, so now we're not family all the sudden?

That's messed

We can talk about ranking each of you up to family-esqe statuses. Some of you on the site are still here from several years ago when I started with collecting, they will be brothers, the rest...hmm...long-lost cousins, and red-headed step-children. Ha ha ha

Wow, you guys are really making me give a lot of thought for something so unrelated to anything else. ;-) I think of most of your guys more as teachers than anything else if I had to organize a category for it. I learned a lot about picking, pricing, and purchasing when I first joined, and since then, I have collected a few thousand games, but still have a lot to learn about collecting and about the different systems. Just in the past few months alone, I have learned tons about the Atari consoles and other stuff that was before my time, a lot about how much I would have loved the older Sega stuff if I had those consoles growing up, and I continue to soak up tidbits all the time. I might actually rank myself up soon and stop calling myself a rookie collector.

In all honesty, I've thought about writing what I've learned about the hobby since I joined the site, but from the different collector viewpoint than the standard one - how to catalog a collection, what variants are and what they mean, identifying what you actually own, and things like that. Unfortunately, can't do it with my current job due to non-compete.

I cringe at the thought of who you'd rank as the  molester-uncle...

Using the API? If so, great. Any suggestions?

Canadia again?

I'd better stock up on the Le Fin du Monde and Ho Damn, then...

BTW if you're anywhere near a 7-11, don't forget about free slurpee day on July 11.

Indeed I am using the API. I found the link while checking the requests the page made as I selected a console in the "Add Game Additions" page.
Wait, is there a page that details the API with all it's links? Huh
As for suggestions, I can't say anything as this was just an experiment.

I have used the API once before to make an RF Gen Firefox search engine. (Again, because I was bored. I don't really use it.)
Only problem is, the suggestions only return 1 result at a time. No idea why.

I can see that 5 more consoles have been cached on my server.
25 were cached before I posted the link, now there's 30.

I found a problem with the search suggestions!

I get a 404 if there is a space in the text.

All I see is a completely blank white screen, without even a "404" announcement.

That's rather rude...

Strangely enough, most RF Gen urls will give a 404 announcement.
Example (A truly non existent url): http://api.rfgeneration.c...eahead/zagnorch/hey%20now slick
