Sweeney Todd!

I saw it last night, and I must say I immensely enjoyed it. I never knew that Johnny Depp was such a great singer, as was everyone else in the movie. The score was fantastic, the gore is outrageous, like any great slasher movie should be.

Any other gushings (pun intended)/rants?

I want to see this. I've always liked Sweeney Todd ever since I first heard it back in high school. I have the broadway soundtrack on vinyl, featuring Angela Lansberry.

I saw this recently, having approached it with very low hopes not being a real fan of musicals I was extremely surprised. Very good movie, and while at the time I was thinking there is way to much singing in this, the songs stuck in my head and have grown on me.

Will have to see it again.

I totally missed this thread. Sweeney Todd was a real treat. It was a musical, but at the same time it didn't necessarily feel like one. I thought the cast also worked very well together. If I start making money I'll have to consider buying it.
