Is this game rare? I've yet to see it anywhere in the real world, and even online I've only found one listing for it on Amazon. I've never seen it on Ebay or other online shops. It's shame as (for a console board games) its pretty great, but there seems to be zero demand for it, and I'm currently wanting to buy a copy.

It was one of those late release budget titles so I seriously doubt it's rare.

Here's a few on ebay right now:

Our database only has a US release so I'd say it did not.

It's actually a fun little game.  Think of it as a side scrolling board game thats very Monopoly in feeling.

Not rare at all though for reasons that Den already commented on.

Because it makes no attempt to be great, it is therefore extremely great.
