Detroit is up 2 games to 1(should be 3-0, FU Kobe) over the Lakers. Damn I hope they can pull it off. I remember the NBA championships they won in 89 and 90 over the Lakers and Trailblazers. It was a beautiful thing.

I guess I'm the only one here who couldn't care less about the NBA in general.  It just seems like the trashiest professional sport we have here in the U.S. of A.  I don't like it one bit....  but then I'm not a big basketball fan in the first place.

They are up 3-1 now.  If the Pistons win on Tuesday, I'm gonna go down to Auburn Hills to be part of the party.  I'll probably bring a couple of cameras too.  The way we celebrate championships in Detroit is unreal (and no, it doesn't involve rioting).

I'm ready for a good Detroit party. I hope they finish off the Lakers tonight.

yup game one of Pistons vs Heat tonight. Should be a good series. We'll see if what they can do with Shaq. Last year they let him have his game and shut everyone else down.

I'll admit I'm a homer but I'll take Detroit. I think Miami is where the Pistons were a couple years ago, at the beginning stages of building a strong nucleus.

what a finish. the Heat ties the game at 80 then the Pistons go on a 10-1 run to finish the game with a 90-81 win.

even big ole Elden Campbell got in an did a job on Shaq for a bit.

Ilove the fact that the only reason the Pistons have Elden Campbell is so they can have someone else to foul Shaq.  Talk about being a role player.

that was a topic of discussion on the radio after the game. roles was given as a reason why the Pistons have an advantage in this series. each Piston player has a clearly defined role, everyone knows who is supposed to do what and when.

I'm sure the Heat have roles too but the Pistons have the advantage of deep playoff runs over the past few years with basically the same unit. Last year they were able to insert Rasheed Wallace into a certain role. This year it was Antonio McDyess and Carlos Arroyo.

Joe Dumars is looking like a friggin' genius.

Sometimes I really wonder how many of Joe's moves are well thought out actions of a genius, and how many of them are just plain dumb luck.  There is no way he could have predicted how good of a move trading Grant Hill to Orlando was.
