With the price of the full bundle being $179.99-189.99, I'm probably only going to get either the game only or the guitar bundle (if they've fixed the guitar connection problems with the 2-pc assembly).

i am probably passing since this has now jumped the shark. leaving it at guitar and bass would have been fine but bow they are making it rock band and i dont want rock band i want fucking guitar hero. band themed discs and constant releases with new songs are fine but dont fudge up the works with more stuff.

the game is called guitar hero for a reason, not band hero.

I probably won't buy it, since the only one I've ever actually owned and played extensively was the Wii version, which was truthfully a letdown.

I've considered myself a huge guitar hero fan until now (Even Gold starred 39 songs on expert on GH3). The best songs in the games were the intrumentals or the songs with long extended solos. With the addition of vocals it pretty much kills both of those.

And if On Tour and Aerosmith versions are any indication the tracklist is getting hugely worse with every new release since Neversoft took over the series. I was totally psyched for the DS one but after seeing the track list and losing a button there is almost no way I'm touching that one.

I only hope Harmonix sees that us GH fans want more actual "Guitar Hero" and release another Guitar only game to satisfy us. These whole band games are not for me.

Like already mentioned, we really want a Guitar game, not a band game.
So will probably sit this one out in protest.
Although if it were to be ported to Mac like GH3 was, I may reconsider depending on how many original songs are on there and just leave the other instruments alone if I do get it.

Will Rock Band instruments be compatible with this?

This is a very big 'IF' for me. I don't usually like shelling out $50 for a game, and GHIII was that special exception. Perhaps, but I might end up passing.

Knowing Activision that answer would more than likely be no, but nothing has been stated.

If the 2 aren't compatable then I am definitly not spending that much again.  Even though Rock Band is great I hated spending $180 on one game when I could have bought 180 games for the same price.

It even has the ability to detect when the guitar is lifted up to activate shred mode nod

If you think that is impressive check this out

Activision should hire this guy, I would get the game, plus if it were released commercially, it would mean the C64 has been alive for 26 years Cheesy

I love the new feature of the current RFG forums, add a YouTube link and it auto-embeds.
Cool stuff, I only just found that out.
