WOOHOO!

For those of you who don't know what the FE is, it's the first step in becoming a Professional Engineer. It's probably either the largest or second largest exam of my life. So, I am super happy.

Congrats!
I hear you engineers have quite the difficult and numerous exams. Seems like anytime I hear an engineer talking to someone starting out, exams are all they talk about.

/grats Dave.  Now on to the PE!

Congrats!
I hear you engineers have quite the difficult and numerous exams. Seems like anytime I hear an engineer talking to someone starting out, exams are all they talk about.

It really depends on the field.  The FE and PE are very important for civil engineers, which Dave is.  However for electrical/computer engineers it is practically useless, it exists but no one in the field cares if you get it.  They might even laugh at you if you do get it in ECE.

Then again, Dave gets to deal with fudge factors where as I have to do exhaustive proofs and tests for everything I produce. There are trade offs for everything I suppose.  ;-)

Congrats Dave.  I never really doubted you'd pass, but it's still nice to know for sure.  Now you just have to wait 5 years for the next exam.
