Well... It is kinda cool, but I don't think you can play actuall cart games on it. There are 20 build in. If you like console modding, check out http://benheck.com/

He makes handheld everythings, from atari to sega to nintendo! You name it! He even made a handheld sega dreamcast!!

It's not a good idea to put a link up as your first post. It makes it look very much like spam. Angry

Maybe *cough* "they" should do a bit of research before making adverts saying "World's first Sega Mega Drive handheld console". The Nomad was around a long time ago.

I hate those types of D-pads, it's like balancing your thumb on a hard bubble or something, terrible for side-scrolling.

Perhaps t'internet has made me overly cynical. But people making a first post linking to a product for sale seems dodgy. The website was created less than a month ago and the video was added to Youtube two days ago.

I heard of the console quite a while ago now. I think they're made in Brazil. It might have been on Engadget.

Actually, they're right in a way... the Nomad was never released outside of the US, where we had the Genesis.  So technically there hasn't been a handheld Megadrive, only a handheld Genesis.

Of course, I seem to recall seeing a Russian knock-off handheld a long time ago, and we've had a lot of homebrew handhelds playing Genesis games on emulation, so I think they're a bit behind.

Interesting stuff:
Monochrome Nightmares (self-made games)
Exploding Jellyfish (self-made music)

It's awful pricey for a knock-off clone.

The reviews from Play-Asia pretty much say it all:

Here's the Russian one:

Well Sega officially released the same thing last year or so I believed. Nothing new to me. Also somebody took that and a made a minirature Genesis.

The nomad is also the only official and portable Genesis that turned the unit portable and was able to play at home like normal which I gotta see sometime upclose and personally.

Other then that it is still a incomplete Genesis and a emulator is no diffrent if not better.

So this is kinda waste of money
