Yep phoenix ,

Sometimes I do find a different category of matchmaking easier because I dont play it often at all.

For instance I believe I am a level 8 or 9 in rumble pit.
Everytime I play rumble (not for some time now) I win or come in a close second. (mostly win). But I know when you get that rumble rank up into the higher numbers it isnt as easy.

My Slayer rank is 26 , but I find playing against legitimate players with a rank of below this easy or not really a big challenge. I simply do not play enough matchmaking to level up. I know in a slayer game when I play against level 30's it becomes harder.

I am a level 25 (almost 26) in Bigteam Battle and find it is all in the team you are with.

Each category is different for a reason , it does suck when a new player is tossed in against players of such a higher caliber though. Sad  If rank means alot to you , I suggest team training until you feel confident.

Look me up and maybe I can show you some good weapon combos and strategy. Wink

CaptainNintendo is my gamertag.

So don't worry too much about wins or loses or your rank because it will pan out.

I couldnt agree more.

Well, how would you suggest they do it?

BTW, look me up.  I'm Sensei Fu on Live, I'll play with you.

I guess my suggestion would be that if a player has a high ranking in a similar game type (i.e. Rumble Slayer), that they would get matched against those with a similar ranking in the game type that they are starting to build a ranking (i.e. Rumble Preview). That way, a player at level 20 would be matched against other level 20s right away.

I guess the point that it "all pans out" is true, but as a less experienced/dedicated player, it's frustrating to consistently finish in the bottom half of the game simply because the high ranked players just haven't played the format enough.

It especially sucks when they start trash-talking and talking down to nOObs. I actually had to leave negative feedback for the first time last night because the guy that was winning was so vulgar and obnoxious and just wouldn't stop. I hated to do that, but I couldn't let it go because none of us newbies could get through to the guy during the game. Oh well.

That's my rant. Thanks, everyone.

Cap and Sensei, I'll definitely add you guys to my friends list. Thanks.

Tyn,

Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy playing no matter how well I finish. Unfortunately, you can't control who's playing with you unless you host private games. Gotta take the good with the bad, I guess.

By the way, since you're off of H2, what have you been playing online? Cap mentioned starting to get into Ghost Recon 2...

Try Head to Head.  You'll really get your ass handed to you.  Everytime I've played it, I get paired with someone with a very low rank who happens to actually be a mid 30's ranked player in other game types.   Roll Eyes

I think I have played that type once (and won).
But I see what you are talking about. If I were to play a lower level it wouldnt be fun.

But then again I really have no plans on playing head to head. :-/ I like team games.

"have a chance"? What are you talking about? You won a few games in our last session. And you were only off by 1 or 2 kills on several others. You're definitely getting better at the game.

Sounds good, Cap. I'll try to go on tonight. It'll probably be later, though. Like after 11 Eastern time.
