Call me confused on this one...why do you have to be the host? What does it allow you to do that it wouldn't allow normally? Move the crate? Pull off the grenade jump? I tried the grenade jump from the dumpster area and couldn't get up there.

I wonder if they created this intending it to just be a spawning point that would discourage camping. It would certainly make a helluva sniper location!

Being host will allow you to do many different crazy things. Try this one out for instance. Go onto Xbox live and go into a custom game by your self on..... Lets say Zanzibar.

Now get into a Warthog and drive as fast as you can head on into those exploding plasma barrels. After you do this you will understand what being host can do for you. Because if you werent host , all that would happen is you exploding and death.  Wink

And when you figure out what happens when you hit the barrels with a warthog , I am sure you can do the math and figure out what grenade jumping is all about  Tongue

Pretty much Den.

In the case of Halo , XBL looks for the user in the game with the best connection and best "host history"
And then uses that connection to host the game. Therefore making that user the host Wink

Hope that answers your question Smiley

yeah it does. I suspected that's what it was. I admit I'm curious to find out the result of the scenario you presented.

You will find yourself looking for plasma barrels with that warthog after you have done it once. laugh

I finally had a chance to play on the Rumble Preview last night and it seemed like I was constantly getting popped by sniper fire from the platforms on Gemini. I just don't remember ever seeing a beam rifle when I walked through the map, only a covenant carbine.

Anyone know if there's a beam rifle on Gemini?

I was in florida for two weeks and got to play with a 20 something ranked kid. (my friend's friend)  It was pretty sweet. He's being sponsored to play at a tournament in Philadelphia and a few months ago Red Bull sposored him and he won 2k at a tournament. Now thats the life.

Yes , there is one beam rifle on Gemini. Its in the small open area right after that big structure that looks like a throne.

Between the throne and the halo? Or by the elevator "bulb"?

Thanks.

Did you buy the map pack disc ? If so there are "mini maps" inside the instructions. But the sniper is on the other side of the throne , opposite of the "bulb".
