Yeah go figure.  Just for fun, the next time you are at the mall and it's especially crowded, yell "Hey Mike!" and watch how many people turn thier heads.  In my group of friends alone there are 4 Mikes.  We all have to go by nicknames or there is complete chaos.

Lol, sounds like when we have family gatherings with people from my mum's side of the family.  She's Irish and about every female in Ireland is called Mary, so it's quite amusing when someone says 'Mary' and half the room turns around.

That translation of Michael isn't very good.  It comes from Hebrew, and it is not a question.  Don't people realize that punctuation can completely change the meaning of a sentence or phrase?  With a question mark, that doesn't make any sense as the meaning of a person's name.  Without the question mark (the more correct translation), it is a simple phrase (not a sentence) to describe somebody who is powerful, great, and all-knowing (me).  Egoism aside, I imagine that this goes back to the Archangel Michael, who banished Satan to Hell after he tried to take God's throne away from him.  Thus, Michael's name probably came to be associated with his great, god-like qualities.  Everyone knew this.  Nobody was asking a freaking question.
