RFG App for Android: The official thread!

Anyone using the App on Android 11 or 12 now?
I upgraded to Android 11 a bit back and the rfgen app does not actually sync folders, it stays at 0 for entries.

I know file permissions stuff changed in 11 so maybe its related.

I'm on 12 and it has been working fine for me.

RF Gen app version is 2.8

app could use a few minor updates though.  Like PS5 / XSX still have not been properly added to it.

I'm on 12 as well, and it generally works, though I have found that I can't rely on it when I'm out game hunting, because the game list doesn't show everything I have, so I still have to use the website. But I use the app a lot for adding new games because I can use the barcode scan feature to scan new games and add them to my account.

hey all - recently upgraded phones, new one is on android 16 and sadly the last build of the app i can find isn't compatible. just wanted to check if there were any workarounds or plans for an update down the road? really miss logging games & such without having to navigate the website on mobile, if the option somehow remains!

That's a good question.  This website is pretty much dead so my guess is no but, hey, you never know!

if it's not being maintained though, us there an easy way to transfer data? id hate to have to log everything all over again 🙃

It's not dead, per se. There's work being done in the background to move the database and site to a newer hosting platform to try and bring it up to more modern standards, as well as a bit of retooling. Since it's all volunteer work, it's slow going, but there is stuff happening. The games database is also still being updated and managed by a few folks who approve submissions and take care of item merges, region fixes, etc. But sadly, the Android app is very much hit or miss, depending upon your manufacturer. You can side-load the Android APK for it to load and it may work, but results may vary.
