How to ruin a good game

Say you have a great series of games and you want to ruin the next game in the series. How might you do this? Easy make it a stupid ass card game!!!!!  :pissed:

Why did Sega ruin PSO with a card game? Then this morning I just read about the Metal Gear game for the PSP is going to be a card game!!

Pokemon and the thousands of spawn's that it has created are card games and that is fine. Why change other series into a card game?

I love PSO for the GameCube and have beat all of the other Phantasy Star games. I am sure I will own PSO Ep III C.A.R.D. because I am a collector but I will never play it.

If I want to play a card game I will play poker. :-/

Hideo Kojima: As for me, it's about three years after Metal Gear Solid 2. My feeling is that the names Metal Gear Solid and then Metal Gear Acid, so they should be considered as completely different games.

Personally I don't know enough about it right now to comment on how i think it will turn out. I haven't been really following it.

I can't stand the idea of popular games turning into card games, but I have to admit that I like the battle system in Baten Kaitos which is card based.  I don't know if that is how most games card systems will work, but if it is, I've seen worse.

As far as PSO goes the card system I just don't get. You take a adventure game and slow it down with drawing cards  . I want to run around and kill things not go "Hold on I need to draw a card".

As far as Baten Kaitos goes. That fine that it is a card game. As far as I know that is the first game ( if it becomes a series)

My problem is not with card games. I just don't play them. My problem is taking a series and changing it into a card game.

It is the first game.  I was just trying to put forth an example of a card system that works.  If PSO has a similar system, then it might not be so bad, but I agree with you that it doesn't really fit the series well.

I would of been fine with Sega making a PSO card game if they didnt call it Ep 3. It does not go at all with EP 1 & 2.

Ok the name is a bit bad choosen but I still like PSO III. I like cardbattle games anyway SNK vs Capcom Card Fighters Clash 2 is my favorite.

I read it in the latest issue of GamePro. It is turned based you choose a card then you can either act out the card or pass. Then the bad guys do the same.
