Just discovered these Wisconsin tourism ads featuring Robert Hays, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and Otto reprising their roles from Airplane!

Kinda makes me wish Leslie Nielsen was still around to be in these ads.

Not to mention Peter Graves.

And Lloyd Bridges.

And Robert Stack... although they did use some of his voice clips in these.

And that campy guy in the air traffic control tower with the smartass rejoinders.

And Julie Hagerty-- oh wait, she's not dead. Or is she? Ahhh, who the hell cares.

I even found a few behind-the-scenes videos about the commercials:

Just finished watching Mad Max:Fury Road. Now that I have watched it, I can honestly say, I think Road Warrior is a better movie.

Finished the 3rd season of Person of Interest. Excellent.

Giving Transporter: the seires a go and not sure.

Also started watching Archer, an animated spy comedy and I find it very funny.

Django Unchained - (2012) - A
--> Brutal, but great.

Virtuosity - (1995) - C-
--> Paper-thin plot and cringe-worthy early CGI special effects make for a movie that didn't age well at all.

Death Becomes Her - (1992) - B-
--> Nothing special, but it has some funny moments.

Run Fatboy Run - (2007) - B-
--> Another comedy that works in parts and doesn't in others.

Gone with the Wind - (1939) - A-
--> It's incredible to think how old this movie is. I just went through the entire cast on wikipedia and they're all dead except for Olivia de Havilland, who is 99 years old. Also, what's in the water in Hollywood? So many of these actresses ended up in their 90ies, it seems. The movie itself is good, has some fun moments, but could do with being shorter. it just goes on and on and on and then ends rather abruptly. Almost as if they ran out of money and decided to just end it there.

Shanghai Noon - (2000) - B+
--> Now here's a comedy done right!

Shanghai Knights - (2003) - B+
--> Same thing, just as good, except less original, obviously.

Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery - (1997) - B
--> Groovy, baby.

The Thin Red Line - (1998) - B+
--> Good war movie.

Waking Ned Devine - (1998) - B
--> Not bad at all.

Speed 2: Cruise Control - (1997) - C-
--> Holy shit does this tick every cliché box. The ship at the end, just lol.

Planes - (2013) - B-
--> Unlike Cars, this is not a Pixar movie. The story is cookie cutter thugh ends satisfyingly, but the animation is great.

The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement - (2004) - D
--> A little more stupid and this movie would've fallen into "so bad it's good" teritory, but as it stands it's just bad.

A Knight's Tale - (2001) - B
--> Heath Ledger has been dead for over 7 years. Wow.

I dunno if it's because the NFL preseason is a bout to kick off or what, but I recently watched the entire run of Bud Bowl commercials on YouTube:

Damn, these things just got dumber with every passing year, didn't they? Not that the Bud bowl ad campaign was brilliant for a start. Sadly, the Bud Bowls tended to much closer and far more competitive than the Super Bowls they were advertised on...

My fave "Real Men of Genius" commercial was Mr. Giant Taco Salad Inventor:

The new "Madden Season" fake trailer thing.  Last years was so lame I forgot about it, and since I didn't see the beginning I genuinely thought this was a movie trailer, so I watched the whole thing.  Likely any of you that watch Youtube have already seen it, but to those that haven't:

I still want this to be a real movie, but then again I can pretty much watch anything and be entertained by it.

The 51st State - (2001) - D
--> A really stupid action comedy starring Samuel L Jackson in the UK. The plot doesn't make any sense.

Burke & Hare - (2010) - B
--> I liked this black comedy about two corpse stealing idiots.

Daens - (1992) - C-
--> An old movie from Belgium about worker's condition in Aalst in the 19th century. Too long and boring, in my opinion.

When Harry Met Sally... - (1989) - B+
--> Billy Crystal is very witty in this movie. His delivery is snappy and on-point. I think his interaction with Ryan is what makes this one stand out.

The Social Network - (2010) - B
--> Probably full of exaggerations for dramatic effect, but who cares, it's entertainment!

Red - (2010) - B-
--> Similar to The Expendables, this is an "old actors ensemble cash in" type movie. It's not that bad, it's just not very good either.

La Grande Vadrouille - (1966) - B+
--> Very funny French comedy starring the legendary Louis de Funès. They don't make movies like this anymore.

Monsters University - (2013) - B+
--> Not as good as some of Pixar's better films, but still very enjoyable, with a good message.

Rosemary's Baby - (1968) - B
--> Weird stuff. I'm not into horror (don't like getting scared) but this one pretty timid.

Die Hard 4.0 - (2007) - B+
--> It's Willis! It's hackers! It's shit blowing up!!! Actually the plot is quite convincing.

Cinderella - (2015) - B
--> Costumes, casting (especially Blancett), sets and cinematography are all excellent. But at the end  I just felt a bit..."is that it?"

The Scandalous Lady W - (2015) - B+
--> Good costume drama set in the 18th Century about a true story concerning a seperation between a noblewoman and her husband.

Hall Pass - (2011) - D
--> A big "wtf" plot with some good laughs here and there. It feels like the director couldn't decide whether he wanted to make an "American Pie" style movie, or the opposite, and sort of lands awkwardly in between.

Captain America: The First Avenger - (2011) - B-
--> These superhero movies are stupid. They're only saved by the sheer amount of money being thrown into them to make the special effects cool and pay for all those great actors to play minor parts. I've never been to one of these in the cinema. Heck, I've only seen the older ones on TV. With so many of these coming out, I wonder if we're going to see a "Guitar Hero 2.0", i.e. the publishers saturating the market and that market eventually imploding. I kind of think they're heading that way, but I could be wrong, as these movies make bucketloads. Also, Haley Atwell's hot.

@Sirgin I love your posts in this thread. Very informative!

The Mrs. and I are about halfway through Ouran High School Host Club.

It's hilarious and charming, like any good anime comedy, and it's the wackiest one I've ever seen.
