Diary of the dead. The 5th film in Romero's Dead series. By all accounts a piece of shit but found a numbered limited edition steelbook DVD cheap and couldn't resist.

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang - (1968) - B+
--> Chitty chitty bang bang! Also, Hushabye Mountain is a great song.

Jack the Giant Slayer - (2013) - C
--> You can tell a lot of money went into this production, but the story simply doesn't hold your attention for very long. It also feels like a fantasy world that was cobbled up at the last second, something I also felt a bit with the Narnia movies, but even more here.

Men in Black 3 - (2012) - B
--> Follows the same succes formula as the previous 2 movies and why the hell not. Though the end is a nice touch.

The Dark Knight Rises - (2012) - B-
--> Meh, I'm totally not into this, or most of the superhero movies. Everything is dark and bland with this one, I can't tell the minor characters apart, and the movie goes on for too long.

The World Is Not Enough - (1999) - B-
--> You can tell the makers are already taking the piss with the whole James Bond franchise by casting Denise Richards as a nuclear scientist.

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor - (2008) - C+
--> Stupid, but I didn't really care.

Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol - (2011) - B+
--> This is probably my favorite Mission Impossible film. The scene in Dubai is awesome.

Kingdom of Heaven - (2005) - B-
--> This is one of those "Let's do an epic movie!" in the wake of LOTR. It's alright...I guess.

Casino Royale - (2006) - A
--> Best Bond movie to date, in my opinion. This has the right suspense/action balance. The card scenes are terrific. Everyone went crazy over Skyfall, but the big finale in that one is just way too boring and action-packed, for a Bond movie.

Silk Stockings - (1957) - B
--> Fred Astaire in his older years. The dancing is still great, but there's slightly less of it. The songs are hilariously condescending towards women. There's also some really good jokes here and there.

Cider with Rosie - (2015) - B+
--> The kind of movie in which nothing happens, but one that simply tries to create a sense of atmosphere. It works, too.

A Walk in the Clouds - (1995) - B-
--> Really cheesy and vacuous. The plot is very one-dimensional and straightforward. I could predict what the characters were going to say all the time.

I don't know what it us with me wanting to watch documentary shows about the worst people ever, but I am presently addicted to Fear Thy Neighbor. Kinda makes me glad I don't interact with my neighbors all that much... or anyone else for that matter. Sadly, outside of work, the most interaction I have with others is on this very forum.

working on watching all of the James Bond films before Spectre comes out November 6. should be no problem as i'm already finished everything up to the start of the Brosnan ones, only 7 total left.

Don't forget the quasi-official sorta-remake,  NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN.

And the original Casono Royale. You know, the one with Peter Sellers.

And the James Bond Jr. cartoon series.

If you're going to get caught up, you may as well go whole hog on the deal.

i'm not that big of a fan to go that deep into the rabbit hole, all i'm watching is the MGM movies. Only Skyfall left! i definitely think Daniel Craig is my favourite bond, but Roger Moore is my favourite of classic bond actors, even though he had some really cheesy moments. A View to a Kill was really great. Casino Royale is probably the best in terms of good movies, but lacking gadgets and Q is a disappointment.

Found this on Netflix.

An excellent documentary on the history of the British gaming industry.

Submitting game info and the credits, it's nice to see the faces behind the names and what became of them. Brings back great memories off being a kid in the 80s.

Nearing the end of Season 4 of Warehouse 13.

Was a slow burner but loved the characters and the idea behind the show so kept with it. It really kicked off in Season 3. Great stuff.

I was thinking of going to see this.  My kids are probably too young, but the wife and I may sneak out to see it next week.

Just finished Five Deadly Venoms on Netflix.  I don't know how I didn't notice, but there are a bunch of Chang Cheh movies on Netflix, which for the most part are good.  I do have a few niggling annoyances to grieve about, such as the title changes and the removal of the (familiar) dubs.  But the movies also have been cleaned up considerably.  Watching Five Shaolin Masters (formally know to me as Five Masters of Death) with the clean, non-panned images, stereo sound, and Cantonese language makes me feel as if I'm watching it again for the first time.  So much fun.  Hopefully we can get some more Chang Cheh (both older Ti Lung flicks and maybe some more Venom Mob movies) and maybe branch out into Joseph Kuo movies.  Man, it's a great month to be a kung-fu fan and a Netflix member!

Just finished up the season finale of Sonic Boom, featuring the show's first appearance of "only the second-most popular character in the whole canon," as Dr. Eggman so fourth-wall-shatteringly puts it. Much of the episode is a not-so-subtle needling of the Shadow fandom, with Eggman playing the genuflecting-overly-reverent-fanboy to the hilt, especially during Shadow's climactic one-on-one battle against... ummm, that other hedgie dude. You know, what's-his-face...

Quantum of Solace - (2008) - B-
--> Not as good as Casino Royale. Less tension and not enough poker bluffing. Also suffers from extreme "shaking camera" syndrome. That car sequence at the start is damn near impossible to watch.

Hachi: A Dog's Tale - (2009) - B
--> I'm not really a dog person, so this movie isn't really for me. At least this dog isn't an asshole like the one in Marley & Me.

Wall Street - (1987) - B+
--> Good movie.

The Man Who Would Be King - (1975) - B
--> Sean Connery and Michael Caine in a hilarious movie, good stuff!

Skyfall - (2012) - B+
--> Better than QoS, but worse than Casino Royale. I feel like Skyfall misses a bit of that Bond glamour, and the final big action feels too generic and dirty for a Bond movie.

Fast Five - (2011) - C-
--> Pedal to the metal and brain turned off!!! Haha, this movie is so stupid, and I have to laugh everytime I see The Rock's oiled up arms. Can't believe how they turned a movie franchise of tuning imported Japanese cars into one about heists, but they did it. And looking at sales, this is marketing genius.

Big Hero 6 - (2014) - A
--> Really impressed by this movie. It does everything right and has a good message. Not made by Pixar but by "Disney Animation Studios" and have to say this one is better than some of the movies Pixar has put out (cough, Cars 2, cough)

Escape to Witch Mountain - (1975) - C
--> Children's movie that hasn't aged well, in my opinion, when compared to Chitty Chitty, Bang Bang for example. The plot is far-fetched and sometime the script is very poorly written. Some of the things the children say really aren't realistic.

Guess Who's Coming to Dinner - (1967) - B
--> Very progressive movie about interracial relationships, made in the 1960ies! Good movie in general, entirely dialogue-driven, something you wouldn't see much today anymore.

The Quick and the Dead - (1995) - A
--> Great Western in the Sergio Leone style about aquickdraw duelling tournament.

A View to a Kill - (1985) - B-
--> Hilariously comedic by today's standards, not sure if that was intentional back in the day.

WarGames - (1983) - B
--> The classic "hacking" at the start of the film is probably the best part of it, quite fun to see all the old hardware being looked at as "high-tech stuff".

October Sky - (1999) - A-
--> Terrific movie about following your dreams.

Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace - (1999) - B
--> Fun movie, but 16 years later the CGI looks dated. I didn't grow up with the older trilogy, which is maybe why I don't  feel any adversity towards this movie.

Out of Sight - (1998) - B+
--> Great crime-comedy, with Clooney as the star. Lots of "random talk" scenes make this movie.

Just watched Leone's "Once Upon a Time...", first full movie I saw after 4 or 5 years (it was likely my 3rd time seeing it).

I was accidentally without the internet for couple hours and I remembered that I have some old stuff (Kurosawa, Leone, Bergman) a friend gave me some 5 years ago "to educate myself" . . . =)

I've been lax on my Netflix viewing updates... Watched a whole heap of documentaries and other educational stuffs.
Shotgunned Marvel's Jessica Jones over the weekend.
Finally saw Batman Begins
Currently watching season 1 of Gotham and of course more documentary stuff and educational stuff.
