I think season 1 of The Book Of Boba Fett is done now, unless they're going to sneak another episode in. Working on season 6 of Parks and Recreation.

I haven't posted in this thread in ages and now I'm dozens of movies behind. Need to catch back up!

Captain America: Civil War - (2016) -  A-
--> Definitely one of the better movies in the MCU. This could have been an Avengers movie.

King Otto - (2021) - B
--> Documentary about football trainer Otto Rehhagel who coached the Greek national football team to an unexpected victory at Euro 2004.

Minority Report - (2002) - A
--> 20 years old this year...a good sign if I enjoy rewatching a movie several times over.

Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children - (2016) - B-
--> So-so. I enjoyed the visual style and premise, but think more could have been achieved with a better plot.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald - (2018) - C
--> Too much of a rerun of the original Fantastic Beast, which wasn't "fantastic" to begin with.

Network - (1976) - B+
--> Rather bizarre movie. Sort of a critique of the zeitgeist of the 1970s.

Amadeus - (1984) - B+
--> Life and death of Mozart. I understand some artistic liberties (historical inaccuracies) were applied but it makes for a good movie.

Howl's Moving Castle - (2004) - A
--> A Studio Ghibli / Hayao Miyazaki classic. Love the visual style and music.

Schitt's Creek - (2015 - 2020) - A+
--> Not a movie, but I did want to comment on Schitt's Creek. Probably one of the most enjoyable comedy/sitcom TV series I ever watched.

The Terminator - (1984) - B
-->  Tech Noir!

The Out-of-Towners - (1999) - C-
-->  Silly comedy starring Steve Martin and Goldie Hawn. Steve Martin's movies often tend to walk the tight line between good comedy and cringeworthy comedy. The type of movie that wouldn't be made anymore today.

Planes, Trains and Automobiles - (1987) - C+
-->  On the surface exactly like The Out-of-Towners, but more...genuine somehow.

Vicky Cristina Barcelona - (2008) - B+
-->  Typical Woody Allen comedy-drama. Good acting and some enjoyable scenes throughout.

Finished Parks and Recreation last night. So good. Also started re-watching the Harry Potter movie series. So far I've watched Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, as well as Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.

Another set:

Ghostbusters - (1984) - B+
--> A classic. It's funny how time changes norms and values. A lot of the behaviour displayed in this movie, mostly by Bill Murray, would be classified as sexual harrassment today.

Mad Max - (1979) - B+
--> Very interesting to see how this movie forms the bridge to the full-on post-apocalyptic world of the sequel.

Mad Max 2 - (1981) - A
--> One of the rare sequels better than the original.

The Hunt for Red October - (1990) - B
--> Captain Connery!

Aquaman - (2018) - C
--> Far from the worst movies in the genre, but it still feels quite derivative. Too much CGI and not enough character/world building to make the whole thing believable.

Brewster's Millions - (1985) - F
--> F for Fail. A comedy film should be funny, at minimum.

The Beguiled - (2017) - B
--> Interesting movie, but not Coppola's best work.

Elizabeth Is Missing - (2019) - A
--> Excellent drama about Alzheimer's disease.

The Ghost and the Darkness - (1996) - C-
--> Strange movie that awkwardly falls in between a good movie and a "so bad it's good" movie...

You Were Never Really Here - (2017) - B
--> An impressive performance by Joaquin Phoenix.

Justice League - (2017) - C-
--> Meh. This type of collab movie just doesn't work without first establishing the characters in solo movies. I would also argue many of these characters aren't likeable.

Thor: The Dark World - (2013) - B-
--> Quite ok but not the best Marvel movie by far.

Shoplifters - (2018) - A
--> A slow start but a profound impact towards the end. A must-see movie.

At Eternity's Gate - (2018) - B
--> Good performance by Willem Dafoe, but felt in parts like overacting.

The Founder - (2016) - A-
--> The movie starts somewhat ordinarily but ends with quite the message.

Just gave the first live-action Sonic movie another look, just to see if there really is some hint of a "shippy" relationship between Robotnik and Agent Stone like some Sonic fanbois & fangrrrls have claimed. And you know what: I think they're on to something here...
