i don't know how i feel about this

Yeah, me too.  I watched the first movie on Netflix a couple weeks ago.  So much wasted potential.  Decent effects in the battles/dogfight scenes, and there were some moments that they could have really used to explore the subject matter better (such as when Renate and James are coming out of the theater after having seen The Great Dictator), but otherwise it was expletives for the sake of expletives, cheap laughs, poor pacing, and too much contrast between the enormity of the outside shots and the interiors (blame it on 100% CGI).  So much wasted potential.  It could have been good, campy fun, or it could have been an interesting socio-political statement, but it ended up being neither.  Casting a faux Sarah Palin as the president was unnecessary low hanging fruit, and then portraying her as a gun-toting, commie-hating, southern hick war monger was just poor taste.  It was interesting enough for a single watch, but it was like a bad train wreck.  I wanted to stop watching, but it was just so bad that I thought maybe it would pay off at the end with some major cheese, or something.  Ultimately, it never did.

Django Unchained - Caught about half of it. Had seen it before. Great flick

Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones (Extended Version) - Not bad but nothing stellar. I'm definitely looking forward to the conclusion of the series tho.

Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues (Super-Sized Version) - Was ok

Finished Locked Up Abroad finally.

Frontline: Hunting the Nightmare Bacteria - Caught about half of this last night before i passed out. I'll finish it tonight.

Hey now,

Just caught a Funny-or-Die* video featuring Huey Lewis singing the praises of American Psycho to a drunken Tiny Tim "Weird Al" Yankovic.

*SPOILER ALERT: Features a bit of both.

Mankind: Decoded - Ran thru the first season. Each episode is something like 20-25 minutes. Pretty sure of that at least 14 minutes is recycled footage.

Alaska State Troopers - Season 4 should be just about done. Not sure how many got added but i think i still have a couple left.

Escape - foreign film. Was decent nothing special. Small band of marauders kill a girls family and capture her. She spends the rest of the movie escaping with some help.

Goon - This has been in my queue since it was put on Netflix. I was surprised at how good it was.

Snowpiercer - I liked this one. Last couple minutes of the end was pretty lame IMO though.

Wolf of Wallstreet - Apparently the new recordholder for saying "fuck" in a movie. Honestly it didn't really stand out to me. Another one i enjoyed. Quite deserving of its R rating.

The Truth Behind Zombies - Pretty sure i had seen this before. Or something quite similar. Had it on for background while playing Dead Island.

The Universe - Started season 1 of this. Episodes are 45 mins so it will take longer for me to go through than Mankind did. Great show for bed time Wink

On regular TV i also got caught up on
Agent Carter
Brooklyn 99
just finished tonights new ep of The Walking Dead

Now I know anti-smoking PSAs are serious business-- especially ones with an anti-bullying angle to them-- but I think this is one of the funniest things I've seen on YouTube since I discovered that Huey Lewis / Weird Al scene:

I guess I just don't have it in me to be a good Social Justice Warrior...

Fargo - (1996) - A+
--> The accent is hilarious. Count how many times they say "ya".

As someone who's lived in Minnesota most their life, I can tell you that no one where I live talks that way. Possibly way up in the northern part of the state but not where I live. I understand why the movie exaggerates it and I'm alright with it, but I hope no one bases their opinion of my state on this film.

Nah. I base my opinions of Minnesota, from the movie Drop Dead Gorgeous and the TV series, Coach. Wink

I've been watching through Friends for the first time with my lady. I also watched Tusk last night...which was...weird. I'm usually a fan of Kevin Smith movies, despite how uneven they are...this one was a little too uneven even for me.

That's how I felt about Red State. I prefer Kevin Smith when he does Comedy.

Started rewatching Venture Bros. over from Season 1

Red State was weird too, but I understood the commentary on radical right-wing "religious" groups that he was trying to convey. Tusk is just plain old dumb (and not good B-movie dumb).

The Universe still.

Also snuck in a movie.
Checked out The Interview.

One great scene was Eminem nonchalantly saying "I'm gay" and everyone freaking out and asking him what he meant by it. "I'm a homosexual."

On the whole it was a meh movie. Glad it ended up getting to netflix so quick. Silly the amount of controversy it stirred up.

Just watched Anchorman 2. Holy shit what a terrible movie. I mean it was aggressively unfunny. Damn.
