just watched.....

Humain, trop humain ( Human, Too Human ): The Documentaries Of Louis Malle - Eclipse Series 2: The Criterion Collection - (1974) - D

Reason for score -- pretty poor documentary.....almost the entire thing had no dialogue or commentary....i would have at least liked some comentary to better understand what was going on or how the workers felt......

Place de la république: The Documentaries Of Louis Malle - Eclipse Series 2: The Criterion Collection - (1974) - B+

Reason for score -- pretty good documentary of the lives of random indivdiuals on the street.......

just got done watching (have been watching it over the past 3 days....)

Phantom India (Inde fantôme, L'):  The Documentaries Of Louis Malle - Eclipse Series 2:  The Criterion Collection - (1969) - B

Reason for score -- yes, this is the 363 minute (aka 6 hour and 3 minute) french documentary about india....split over 7 episodes......while it was good, it wasn't amazing and i definitely could have cut about 3 hours out of this one......malle focused on certain things for just way too long.....

just watched....(from netflix).....

Stomp The Yard - (2007) - B

Reason for score -- not amazing, but not terrible.....pretty good dance moves.....but, the outcome of the love triangle was pretty predictable.....

just got done watching .....

Calcutta:  The Documentaries Of Louis Malle - Eclipse Series 2:  The Criterion Collection - (1969) - A

Reason for score -- i was deeply touched by this one.....the scenes with the lepers were very real / horrific....  also, i was, well, i don't know what adjective to use, but i was xxx at the idea that these people were drinking and bathing in water that i wouldn't even use as toilet water......it's hard to believe the unimaginable suffering that occurs in this world.....and its sad to know that middle class US citizens think they have it bad when these people don't even have enough food to eat......plus, the scene where the UNICEF donations have "Donated by the United States" written in 17 different languages was amazing....only the US would advertise its generosity like that........utterly appaling.....

watched earlier today....

God's Country: The Documentaries Of Louis Malle - Eclipse Series 2: The Criterion Collection - (1986) - B

Reason for score -- interesting movie.....not the most amazing documentary i have seen, but it was pretty thought provoking....it's amazing how big of a mindset change can occur in such a short time within a town.....

just got done watching....from netflix....

Blood Diamond - (2006) - A

Reason for score -- makes you really hate humanities greed.....but, then i look around my room and see 1000+ games and 400+ dvds.....
