Nintendo announced New Super Mario Bros. 2 for the 3DS and a 20th Anniversary Kirby collection for the Wii. A Kirby collection sounds great, and I am really going to have to break down and get a 3DS soon.

I'm stoked for both of them.  The 3DS is finally starting to get a good library going.

But don't you still need the Wiimote to at least plug in the classic controllers?

Some Wii games strait up support a Gamecube controller. I don't know if you can navigate the system menus with it though.

I'm pretty sure you have to have a Wiimote to navigate the home screen.

Might be for me too depending on whats included and the final price. My son is a Kirby nut and I definitely love the old style 2-D Kirby games so it will depend on the details.

Upscaled Kirby 64 would be awesome. Kirby;s Tilt n Tumble would be another no-brainer addition to the collection, but I'm sure nintendo will just include the "Main" kirby titles (Kirby's Dreamland 1-3, Adventure, and SuperStar), and maybe pinball. Honestly, there are enough good kirby spin-offs to fill up a whole collection.

New Super Mario Bros. 2? But NSMBW is a completely different game from NSMB, doesn't that make it a sequel too? Or a spin-off in between with different levels?
On another note, thinking about Kirby 64 made me think about how NSMB's "2.5D" sucks in comparision.

You can use a classic controller as well, but that still requires a Wiimote.

I also read that Nintendo trademarked Super Mario Bros. 4 a bit ago. Makes me wonder if we'll see it on Wii U.
