That is a huge accomplishment! Major props for being able to get this one done. I don't think I'd have the patience.

Congrats Crabby. That one is infamously hard.

How many left on your personal to beat list?

After Ikari Warriors I have 62 left to go!

Championship Pool, Q Bert, Mutant Virus, Top Gun Second Mission and Star Force are the only ones I expect to give me any sort of trouble now.

I forgot what game I was working on.  I think once we are done with the nes, we should do Genesis or snes.

I'm pretty close to finished with Cyberpunk 2077 then I think I'll jump into some of the KOEI games and a couple of the other very challenging games we have left on our list.

Well done douglie! I grew up as a huge Ren & Stimpy fan so I really like that game even though it's kind bad at times.

I have been practicing Ikari Warriors since October 19th of this year and was finally able to get a win today on December 7th. It is a cruel and mean game. If you think losing all your powerups in Gradius is tough try losing them in Ikari Warriors. Easily one of the hardest games I've ever beaten and one of the most challenging on the system.

Wow, congrats Crab!!!  I spent weeks trying to get through this on multiple platforms and was ultimately crushed under its weight.  I could never get through it despite the walkthroughs I read and watched.  Just too far above my skill level.

Thanks man. It was mainly a lot of memorization.

Starting my 2021 off with a trio of KOEI games. First up was Nobunaga's Ambition. Like most KOEI games it was very dense to get into and spent about 3 hours goofing around learning the systems and then restarting for a real attempt. Got to the very end with only one remaining enemy, BUT due to poor game design I had made a marriage pact with him early on and the game considered him an ally so I couldn't fight him to finish the game. Had to try and tempt him into attacking me. Lots of hours trying to get that to work and I had to call it a night. Turned on my game this morning and my save data was corrupted!!! I had to start over. Thankfully after the many hours I'd already put in I had a much better grasp on the game. Was able to do some super early ninja assassinations and take a lot of early territory which helped a ton. Really though I was going to have the game done in less than 3 hours this time, but the last guy dragged the game out and made it closer to 5. Anyway Japan is united and I'm going to start Nobunaga 2 tomorrow and unite it all over again.

Unified Japan all over again with Nobunaga's Ambition II. It was vastly different from the first one and none of the skills or tactics I used in that one worked this time around. Had to spend a few hours learning it again, but it became obvious that you can use your superior forces and territories at the start of the game to press through before your opponents had time to build up any defenses so it wasn't a super long game. Was able to just move troops around and then overwhelm everyone, then move them back to the territories that I had been abandoning at the start. On to Bandit King of Ancient China next.
