Beat Formula One: Built to Win over the last few days. Ended up playing through it nearly 3 times. Had my laptop freeze near the end twice. Thankfully it's not overly long or challenging. Pretty decent though and kind neat how you can upgrade your vehicle and earn new licenses.

Back when we were doing the challenge, put a ton of time into this, and about 1/3 of the way through the formula 1 section, I hit a total brick wall. Up to that point it was a great game, but it felt like it got cheap at the highest class.

You don't need to win every race in the game though so you could just pick and choose the tracks you find easiest in the late game, assuming you ranked first in all the earlier classes. Sure some of those final stages are tough, but if I remember right you only needed to do 2 of them to get the ending.

Was able to get a win on Star Soldier just now. Made it through the last 3 levels on my final credit, which is nerve-racking.
It was a challenge for sure, but easier than many other early shmups due to short levels, easy bosses, shields, screen clears and a great powerup if you can mash faster than the auto fire.

Awesome!  Keep knocking em down!

Just cross checked my list against this one and out of my remaining 42 games it looks like 18 of them match up. So there wi be at least that many more taken down

Finished Top Player's Tennis. Not too bad of a sports game in terms of controls and different kinds of CPU AIs. Went on waaaay to long though before you get the ending. Overall rating: Greart

Why not follow up some Tennis with even more Tennis!! Beat Racket Attack just now. It has noticeably worse controls and a very odd camera that transitions after the serve and follows the ball around rather than just showing you the whole court. It starts off not too bad, but the last couple matches really crank up the challenge with the CPU learning how to serve and return balls all of the sudden.

Spent the last week figuring out and grinding through F117A Stealth Fighter. It's actually got a neat progression system where you have to earn 10 medals by doing specific challenges in order to unlock the final 3 stages you need to beat the game. That was thankfully the last flight sim on the NES I needed to play!

Beat Milon's Secret Castle tonight. It is a mess. Cool early idea that just doesn't hold up. Everything is hidden so there is lots of shooting/jumping/pushing every block to reveal items. There is ZERO invincibility frames so if you get hit by something it has the opportunity to drain you very fast. Bosses are especially tough because of that, with the exception of the final boss which I thought was actually the easiest (once you figure out which of the 4 possible bosses is the real one). Thankfully the game isn't too overwhelming in length.

Beat Loopz after working on Mode C for the past several days. The last half of that mode is pretty rough. Very little reaction time to recreate puzzles that get progressively harder and codes only pop up every 5 levels so you have to get quite good at them to be able to beat all 5 in a row. With some very minor tweaks it could have been a lot more enjoyable.

Finished off Snake's Revenge: Metal Gear II today. I liked it a bit better than the first game. It's got some VERY mean boss fights, but it was much more straightforward than the original and wasn't as confusing to navigate. Made as mistake at the end and got to pretty well the very last part of the game, but missed a key item so I had to redo the last area again, but even then it wasn't as frustrating as the first game was. Traps are dumb.

Just beat Nigel Mansell's World Championship Racing. Seemed extremely challenging at first, but after getting a few races down it became obvious you could do well without getting 1st each time and keep your point total high enough to win the season. Any tough corners just had to be downshift into and you had to cross your fingers that your randomly timed pit stops would be close to 5 seconds long rather than 9. It's a major pain to pass other cars because of the size of the vehicles in comparison to the road so getting a good qualifying time was essential. Some flaws, but an ok racer.

Finished World Championship Wrestling just now. Spend about 3 hours on just the last fight and less than that on the entire rest of the matches. WCW Master is a doozy of a final boss, holy crap. The whole game up to there is actually pretty good. One of the best wrestlers on the system for sure. Everyone has special moves, all grabs are customizable, you can do running and throwing moves, top rope moves, holds, strikes and the controls aren't too bad for any of that. Also the music is decent. That last fight really took a lot out of me, it's brutal though. Think I started the final 3 count with 3 seconds left on match timer as well so I was extra worried.

Just beat Smash TV and wow, was that awesome. Cannot believe how good the 1 player 2 controller control method actually worked. Crazy fun the whole time, tons of enemies, non-stop power ups, cool boss fights, and a fun style to the whole thing. Very pleased to be so blown away by an NES game this late into my playing.
