Model Revisions, 1st and 3rd party accessories, different territories, software and many other new areas are opened up for you to explore. We'll take one of the most beloved systems of all time, the NES, and break it down so that hopefully people still learning the basics about it can leave the Collectorcast with new found, and vastly useful, knowledge in their collecting quests for this classic system. As an area of focus for all 3 of our collections we hope to pool our combined knowledge and experience with the NES and show that there is a lot more to the Nintendo than one might think. But with a few tricks, a bit of research and some trial and error anyone can dive in and enjoy collecting for the NES in many different capacities if they have the desire. As usual we'll also spend waaay too much time discussing the plethora of amazing scores that have been posted (and blogged) at RF Generation. It's becoming cliche to keep saying that this month's scores exceeded the last, but fortunately it keeps being true! So check it out and see if you made the cut this time around. Great podcast guys. I wish I had one of these to listen to at work everyday. Great tips on buying NES games and I'd throw in Krazy Kreatures as a pretty good unlicensed puzzle title.

Holy hell i did get a mention!
I honestly think my favorite thing in the lot crabby sent me was the bootleg SNES game. I had actually lost an auction on a CIB copy with the exact same art the week it showed up. The steel case i REALLY wanted and the music was cool but it was just way to awesome that i still got the bootleg i had lost out on.
In one cast Crabby had mentioned he had gotten some strangely packaged items and i can't help think that may have been a veiled mention of me when i was selling very large very heavy awkward lots to him and Tynstar and a few others and had made franken-boxes.... I could be wrong.

Huzzah! My Mega Man 5 made the podcast! (side note: niceguy1283 and I aren't brothers, we're friends that work together and go hunting for games together. And Engel is Angel in german, it's an old handle I've used for while in online gaming. From ye olde text based MUDs and dial up BBS games, and then Everquest later on)

Bill is correct we are just fellow gamers my brother is Steve and he no longer really gets involved unless its pc games or finds something he wants bad enough. But it's good to have a friend that likes to hunt for video games.

You wanted to know if the podcast was too long or too short. As busy as my day is when I can actually stay in the office throughout, you came up about 30 minutes short of the time I was able to stand-up & curse & leave. I didn't get to listen to it fully till today, but it kept me entertained for most of the day. Thanks guys.
And thanks for the multiple mentions. Not only am I always looking for great additions for myself, but I really enjoy grabbing something for someone else, be it family or RFGeners. This is why I hope more people will post what they are interested in grabbing to the forums, and would like to see a small section added to the Collectorcast for at least the most active members ex. Zagnorch wants Optimus Prime to attend his next birthday party, Crabby wants people to stop assuming that he likes hockey, Bil wants Wayne Gretzky to give him a call (me too, Dude), and Duke wishes that atmospheric changes would suddenly cause all cardboard to dissolve. Or you can just talk about the specific collections that some members are aiming for. Yeah, that would probably be better.

I played on a MajorMUD BBS for a few years starting when I was about 14 years old, the owners suddenly took it offline after I had spent about 5 years playing there. Didn't even get to screenshot my 4 characters for posterity! Ah well.. and then my Everquest addiction started in 1999, it didn't end until 2008 or so. So many years mispent! Or well spent, who knows? I found a few random muds to telenet into over the years but they weren't quite the same.

Just finished listening to the episode, and it was a good overview of the NES. The show has come a long way since episode 1. Keep up the good work!
I've only seen two copies of Silent Service in the wild, but Lee Carvallo's Putting Challenge is everywhere I go.

I've finally finished the podcast. As always, I enjoy (in a completely bro-fashion) the length of the podcast. Think about it, only a few more hours and you'll rival Retro Gaming Roundup!
Now I'm going to blow your minds: In all the years of active collecting (2000-2010) and all the lots of NES games I've gotten to make up my NES collection (about four groups), I've NEVER seen or gotten Silent Service in any of my lots, and that includes the big'un I passed up back in 2005 (about 75 NES unique). Around here the super commons seem to be the Super Mario/Duck Hunt comp. and Top Gun.
