Oh I listen to my vinyl all the time.  That's different than cassettes, though, and vinyl sounds better with age than cassettes do (when properly cared for).  I've got some great classic rock and big band on vinyl.  It's tough to find good stuff in the wild, but sometimes it can be worth it - like when I got the Blue Jays album (John Lodge & Justin Hayward) for $1.00.  That's a little-known gem.

Side project of some sort I believe.  Some creepy guy at GoodWill recommended it to me, so I went ahead and bought it.  If you like The Moody Blues and similar prog rock, you should definitely keep your eyes out on that one.  So basically my answer is I don't know.  I just know that it is good, and I believe it was between albums with The Moody Blues.

I sift through the vinyl at thrifts once in a while. around here it seems all they have are Barbra Striesand or Barry Manilow or records that look like they've been wet, i think the last one I bought was Bob & Doug MacKenzie's Great White North album. I did see a Beatles Yesterday & Today once and thought I'd stumbled onto one with the butcher cover covered up. upon closer inspection it appeared someone else had already thought the same thing as it was slightly peeled.
