^Yep, its based on the game. I'm almost through it and it fills a lot of holes from the FMV cutscenes in the game. It add's more to the story and fleshes out the game in my opinion. It has been a fun read and I would recommend it.

Did you play and beat the game before reading this?

^I've played and helped a friend beat the game a long time ago. I also watched a playthrough to refresh my memory on the game. The book is a easy and fun read.

I decided to celebrate my newly-restored eyesight by diving into a fave book series from my teens:

The original 6-volume Dune books authored by Frank Herbert.

I'm starting with the appendices and "Terminology of the Imperium" glossary in the back of the first book so I'm more familiar with the general backstory and terminology when I dive into the story proper.

Speaking of backstory: I found out that Frank's kid Brian Herbert, along with noted Star Wars novelist Kevin J. Anderson, have co-written about 20 sequel, prequel, and even midquel books. Although I've read that the duo has been guided by Frank Herbert's notes and outlines for future Dune novels, I'm not sure if I'll get into those after I've gone through the original six books. Of course, if I do, y'all will be the first to know.
