Nice work, my grandmother is in the hospital at the moment and constantly hooked up to a blood suply thing. She gets loads of the stuff. You'd almost think she pisses it out.

I would love to do that, but needles and I don't go so well together.  I'll donate blood if I can figure out some way to get over that, though.

Ya i don't care for needles either.
But when they put the needle in to get the blood it only hurts for a few seconds at the most.
Other than that it is no biggy.

I donated at school though so i had friends to chat with me who were helping work the drive.
If you just go to a Red Cross station i bet it is different.

I'm sure if my buddies were around to talk to, I wouldn't have a problem with it either, but my friends probably won't be around if I donate blood.  My dad has a really rare blood type, so he's donating every chance he gets, and he says it's no big deal going to the Red Cross.  Hopefully I'll get over this needlephobia (that's a technical term right there  Wink) and be able to donate sometime, cause I really would like to.

When I went to Peru, I had to get a load of vaccinations that made me inelligible to donate blood.  The yellow fever shot in particular made a big difference - for ten years after the day I received it, I can't donate blood.  That means I still have about seven years to wait.  Of course by then I'll just renew the shot to go back to South America, so I will probably never donate blood in my life.

I like donating blood because afterwards you get snacks.  |D

The place that I work has a hemotology lab in it, so I give blood at least once a year.

Way to go, I support anyone who gives blood |D.  I think that I mentioned before about my son who was diagnosed with Leukemia two years ago.  He is doing great now (he just turned 5) and chances are he will recover completely with out any lasting effects, but he did have to have a few transfusions back when he was first diagnosed.  I used to give about once a year but I try to go more often now.

If you don't want to donate blood, how about video games?  After spending a lot of time at the local Children's Hospital I realized they had several systems available for the kids to play (ours had xbox, Playstation, N64 and Genesis), but they didn't have a good supply of games.  I ended up giving them a bunch of extra games I had and a couple of Genesis systems.  And the good part is no needle is required laugh

I was in a thrift store or something like that today and picked up a pentium 60, so I could gut it and put my old pentium 3 450 in it and turn it into a linux thing. But it turned out my motherboard didn't fit in it Sad. blah.
