A sealed Fire Emblem Awakening, the first Target-salvage game I've come across in quite some time. Anybody want to venture a guess as to how much this set me back? Not to brag or anything...

Some very nice 2600 titles in there, Frostbite being one of the best. Love the RE gun as well. Nice scores sir!

Prey was a very underrated game. It was in production during the N64 era, but had to be delayed as the hardware couldn't handle it. Jealous of the Pokemon silver snag for under 2 bucks. I keep hoping to get some expensive GB stuff in the wild myself.

I saw Akiba's trip yesterday at my EB Games, but I kinda felt weird about buying it. So I got Ys: Memories of Celcetta instead.

I don't feel weird about anything I do anymore at all. When I went to pick this up the girl offered me pre-orders for such predictable games like the new Ass Creed and Far Cry. When I walked up I said, "I like weird games," and she said she would be getting Akiba's Trip when it comes out on PS4. I then found out she likes Tales and Persona, just like me!

I have the advantage of a dozen Goodwills and two Savers within a fifteen minute drive from my house, combined with knowledge of when they usually put the latest donations on the shelves. Though recently, the latter part has become a lot more random.

However, it always gets pretty dry from early- to mid-summer. This sudden surge of stuff usually indicates an end to the drought. Probably due to parents looking at their kids' favorite playthings, and deciding they'll be too much of a distraction from their school studies, so into the donation box they go.

I believe that's because of the internet.

I'm sure the 'net is to blame for some of the ridiculous pricing I've been seeing at the local chain-thrifts lately. But every once in a while, they'll price things somewhat reasonably. I've noticed that, if a store gets a very large stack of games, the price per unit will be much lower than usual, probably to move them out ASAP.

I could probably write a dissertation on the local Goodwill chains' practices and behavior, but I'll leave it to someone who actually cares about that stuff.

I'm guessing you paid $4.99 for the 3DS game.

I've had this game on the ole wishlist for a while and was able to cross it off today. I come across it often, but the price is never right or it's a GH version. The price of $12 was right today. Oddly, they had 2 addition GH versions for $20....

Big day for me.  Stopped a Goodwill on the way back to work after an errand and grabbed a couple decent carts to flip.

And then I got home from work and found a box that I was expecting from Techie but it had more than a few unexpected items in it.

I was expecting Police Quest 2, Lords of the Realm 2, Sim City, Tie Fighter for the Mac, and Man Hunter.  I wasn't expecting Mortal Kombat 3 which Techie remembered that I commented on/asked him about a while ago when he picked it up, Nor was I expecting the Original 3.5 Windows Tie Fighter.  Thrilled to have them both.

Another pile of personalized freebies from Techie, Gretzky 06 is still sealed which is probably better off since anything in a Kings jersey is still too painful.  Couple of Ranger cards (Dougie Weight and Tony Amonte) as wekk as disc only copies of Rebel Assault for Windows and Mac.

Sure, it's disc only but Sonic CD is amazing.  Since I'm repairing Techie's Sega CD, he figured I needed something to test it with.  I'm only too happy to have a copy of this lying around to test future systems.  Big thanks, man.

Nice snag on the Animal Crossing Memory Card. I have been looking for one complete forever it seems. I have been avoiding the game altogether without it because I know how hard it is to find separately.

the store i found it at actually had 2, but the other one had writing. they were asking $15 and i said i was thinking more along the lines of $10, but they met me in the middle at $12. really glad i didn't pay more because even $12 is pushing it compared to ebay where most are $10 and under. still a really good deal when anything from ebay would have cost me at least $15-$20 if i consider shipping.

they let me test it first too which was nice because it has a special file on it to give you a couple bonus items in-game, and that file can be deleated (my younger self knows this with regret).

online is sometimes the only option for certain obscure things, and what's extremely rare locally can be somewhat common online.

For sure. I have started compiling some information for GameCube stuff in terms of pricing and rarity and such for when I make my move to get closer to finishing the set. I have found some great websites and information from our own site about getting it done on a pretty limited budget.
