Banjo-Kazooie (N64) - I was reminded how much I despised the swimming in this game again while in Clanker's Cavern. Thankfully I've now made my way to Gobi's Valley.

I haven't posted here in ages, it seems. Here's what I've been playing this year:

Stardew Valley (Xbox One). Started playing this game sometime around January and finished it in April. Sunk about 60-65 hours into the game, got really into it. The last 10-15 hours did start to feel repetitive, as you end up doing the same thing most days. I largely ignored the social aspect of the game, as I was annoyed with the difficulty in tracking down a specific NPC during consecutive days. Maybe I should've tried to automate my farm even more, although it was already efficient, with sprinklers and auto-feeders and auto-collectors in the coop, barn, etc. Nevertheless I would easily spent half the day doing all the farm chores (collecting crops, making cheese, eggs, ...) so usually only had a few hours left to go mining or fishing. anyway, great game overall. I stopped after the 2nd year, achieving 3 candles.

Kingdom Hearts III (Xbox One). Started this game after I finished Stardew Valley. What a blast, almost a perfect game in my opinion. Only the pacing and content of the "serious" story felt off and I lost interest at some point. There are far too many hooded characters that all look and sound alike, it's hard to keep track, especially with all these names that sound as if they came out of a random name generator. Xemnas, Xehanort, Xigbart, ....wait who is that guy again? Long story short, I finished the game and ended up spending at least 20 hours on top getting some of the optional achievements.

Soulcalibur VI (Xbox One). I started this game a few days ago. I'm playing through the Libra of Souls mode. My character is currently level 20. Not bad, but the story isn't particularly engaging. Still enjoying this mode as an easy intro back into Soul Calibur games. Been a while since I played one last time...maybe Soulcalibur III on PS2? Anyway, the fighting mechanics are great, which is the main concern with a fighting game. I'm playing on one of my PS2 HRAP's via a Brooks adapter on the Xbox One. Using an arcade stick highly adds to my enjoyment of a fighting game; I wouldn't want to play one with a regular controller.
