Power just went out a couple hours ago. And it turned back on right in the middle of me typing this post.

The power of Chinese Jesus!

Taiwanese Board-Game Jesus, thank you very much.

So on a hunch i bought a lead test kit after work today. Turns out i had been sanding lead paint for half a day without proper protection! Yaaaay!

Upon calling and complaining i was told someone else could be sent but i could "kiss my job good bye"

I say "K" and hung up.

Immediately got texts back peddling.

I can safely assume that as soon as there is the ability to let one person go i will be that person. Unless of course i get hired elsewhere and no call no show.

I didn't know Rev. Sum Myung Moon was into Johnny Depp...

Lead poisoning, huh? That would explain quite a few things.  Tongue

On a more serious note: just about every professional house painter I've met who's been in the business a least a decade is whacked out to some degree. Some are barely able to talk coherently, and a few are full-blown alcoholics. I wonder if the whole lead-based-paint thing has a little something to do with that? Well, aside from all the other chemical shizznit in house paint that they're exposed to every day...

{broad generalization}
It seems like general rule of thumb is trade workers are/were/become alcoholics or drug addicts. When i was in the union i wouldn't doubt if i was the only guy who could piss clean at the drop of a hat.
{/broad generalization}

As for the materials used being poisonous... Pretty much everything is.
I've sent out pics of some of the more dangerous stuff for laughs. Tynstar has gotten a few. Pretty much everything causes organ/nervous system damage and should be used in well ventilated areas and not come into prolonged and/or direct contact with you.

I got a kick out of the last time i used 0 VOC precat epoxy.
Something like 52% of the mixture was exempt from VOC laws. But it still had that "green" label slapped on the can.

Got an apology today after leaving early.

Apparently someone quit without notice.
Generally when that happens you don't threaten to fire someone else who wants to quit...

Doesn't help if you don't have the appropriate type.

I didn't have lead filter so my mask didn't matter worth shit yesterday.

If i were to notify EPA this whole house would be in lock down and lawsuits would be slapped on various people. It only takes one fuck up for the EPA to kill you as a small business.

Don't know why I didn't post this one when we were talking about multi-necked guitars earlier

Re-hashing earlier conversations that everyone else has moved on from, it's what I do.

I tried a McDouble.
I forced my way thru half and tossed the other half in the trash.

Almost unbelievable how bad the dollar menu "meat" is.

Shoulda put up some real money on a double quarter-pounder with cheese. It's the only Mickey D's burger I really care for. I get a hankering for one a few times a year.

In other news: It's been close to 2 weeks since my job interview, and my would-be employers are still waiting for the results of my background check. I voiced this concern to a friend who works there, and he told me that there are four people who applied before me who are still waiting for their background checks to be completed.
