Eucalyptus
(California has a large number of gum trees- they were imported from Australia following the gold rush because they were drought resistant. Unfortunately eucalypts are notoriously fire prone)
Not that anyone cares, but eucalyptus trees are fairly common around the SF bay area. The tree's infamous inflammability is primarily from the oil-laden bark that it periodically sloughs off. It's basically a way to get rid of any other nearby trees and plants that are competing for sunlight and soil nutrients. A lightning strike in just the right spot, and you're in business. Eucalyptus bark helped fuel the Oakland Hills fire of 1991,making it far worse than it would have been without the "help."
