Remember the April Fool's joke a couple years ago in EGM (I think) that said Sony was testing a brain chip that would eliminate controllers as we know it?  The chip, which would be implanted into your brain, would detect "button presses" as you thought about them.

Funny at the time this joke came out, scary as hell that somebody is actually making this a reality:

It IS scary but on the bright side: "A team at Duke University in North Carolina reported in March they had used electrodes implanted deep in the brains of Parkinson's disease patients to transmit signals that might someday be used to operate remote devices."

If advances like this could benefit my mother someday that'd be kewl. I just can't see playin a game by thinking alone though. How fuckin boring would it be to suffer lack of button mashing?

I'm thinking about total imersion virtual reality. If you can get the brain to operate the game, a future step would be making the brain beleive the your in the game.

                                     or

Robots with human brains in them to control thier operation.  Extended lifetimes through machinery.

ooooohhh. sci-fi

If I could write flash movies, I'd have a guy with a faulty chip, and he can't turn the MP3 player off, and it keeps playing "I'm turning Japanese"

but I can't - so I won't.

My dogs have micro-chips under their skin.
