My friend at a game store I used to work at gave me 3 SNES boards with EEProms on them. 1 is a Family Feud that starts up like the regular release. 2nd is a Super Tetris 2 + Bombliss. ( All I could find online is that it was released in 1994 for the super famicom system and it shouldnt be compared to TETRIS 2 that came out on SNES ).  Mine boots up pretty much the same I see no difference. the 3rd is a copy of Super Casper. The first screen that pops up ( before absolute software ) is different. Making me wonder if its a import ( which would have used a different company ) OR is it a work in progress before the company was changed.  The guy my friend got them from was a programmer back in the 90s. Anyone could give me a little more info on these games. I would be all ears.  I would love to learn more and if anyone has a Super famicom copy of Super Casper to compare mine too Im all ears.

Can you provide a screenshot of the first screen? Maybe a camera pic? I can tell you more info.

Saw this note you left on NintendoAge:
Quote
with casper instead of it saying Nasume it says Laguna

If it's Laguna, Laguna was a publishing arm in Europe, so it's likely that you have a European copy...
Screenshot would still help though.

IF I had to venture a guess, you likely have a prototype of the KSS version of Casper that was destined for Europe. Here are the differences between the two versions:
http://gaming.wikia.com/wiki/Casper

Quote
KSS version
A different game was released only in Japan by the anime company KSS. In this version, the game uses an isometric view and the player controls Kat Harvey herself as she protects Casper from a duo that consists of a male government agent and a female government agent. During the course of the game, Kat collects items, therefore making this game an adventure game as opposed to an action game.

Baseballs are used to stun the secret agents. Getting hit by a secret agent results in a game over. There is even a box to the bottom right that keeps track of time (in seconds and minutes); the game starts with ten seconds elapsed. Saving the game is as easy is finding mechanical contraptions and activating them. While saving the game, the game counts all the coins and gems; it uses that count to tabulate a percentage to decide how much of the game has been officially completed.

Worth noting to see if you have an unreleased PAL version of the KSS copy.

Looks like the normal version where you are casper. So I guess its a European version. Still cool to see these pop up in the wild out of the blue. Too bad they arent high valued items.

Well...it does look like Laguna distributed it in Europe, as you can see here:

They may have been shopping to see if Laguna wanted to publish it, rather than just distribute it.

maybe its still a cool find. and interesting there is no mention of Nasume in the start up. Now I need to find carts to store them in so they will be safe.

If there are any chips with a window on them, keep them away from UV exposure!
