Hey now,

Look at what I picked up for a Ulysses:

All right, let's open this bad boy up...

Yikes, that keyboard is almost as beat up as the box. Good thing I bought it mainly for the power block and games:

Hey, wait a minute, what's that beneath the keyboard?

Local game shop near me has DuckTales 2 and Zombie Nation... DuckTales 2 was CIB and Zombie Nation was cart only. I think they had $375 each on them.

Unseasonably warm weather meant it was time to hit the flea market.  Here's the take:

NES with 2 official controllers, Bandai Mega Controller, instruction booklet, & Super Mario Bros. 1-3.  $45 $40

Offered as a lot from a seller with some very poor quality and condition NES titles for sale.  The NES and the SMB games were the best condition and quality items he had.  I played the waiting game on it and the gamble paid off with a $5 price cut.  The NES and games worked a treat after cleaning, but the pins in the NES are completely borked.  I had to use a Game Genie slightly tilted to get a stable connection at all.

Rocketeer, Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde, Athena, & Lode Runner: $8 $6

From the same seller as the NES bundle.  The Rocketeer is more indicative of the average quality of his items than anything else.  While I pushed to get it as a freebie because it's so ugly, I'm still glad to have it.

Jungle Hunt (5200): $5

Not the best deal, but it seemed a better deal than paying to ship a cheapo game from an online purchase.

F-15 Strike Eagle: $5

Again, not the best deal, but not a bad one.  I bought it because it's a very nice copy and I wanted to rescue it from a life baking in the hot sun of a flea market.

The following aren't flea market finds, but Black Friday indulgences:

I'm not as into homebrew as some NES collectors, but the high quality of these titles was undeniable.  I love NES action platformers, and I am also deeply interested in PC-style adventures on the NES.  A sale was all the excuse I needed.

@Crabby: ...Keep on keeping on, man.  I can't even wrap my head around it.  I'll be waiting on that Collectorcast episode.

LOL, this reminds me of that post with the N64 and Game Cube that had money and stuff supposedly inside of them. Also, nice finds on all of that!

Oh, for God's sakes, not this crap again. Seriously, ya gotta knock off this "Mini-SNES" nonsense, people; I'm STILL not falling for it.

I've been doing the magical-gift-box schtick on Small Scores for a couple years now, before I was made aware of the "overstuffed GameCube" slideshow. I also like to do the gradual-camera-pullback tease (seventh post down):

ANYway, today's post-work thrift scores were relatively sparse:

- CIB XTreme Legends: Dynasty Warriors 3 for PS2, $0.95

- CIB Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee and Psychonauts for XBox, $0.95 each

- CIB TimeSplitters: Future Perfect for XBox, $1.95

- Fishing Derby and Ice Hockey for 2600, $1.99 each

- CIB Valkyrie Profile Lenneth for PSP, $3.95

...'Scuse.

There is definitely a bunch that are hyper expensive, but there are still quite a few cheap ones too ($50 or less). They can be just as hard to find as the expensive ones though!
