Cool Chiller and peripherals. Nice score. Also cool to have story/background of who you buy from.

@Shepy: I can't say I blame you for not splitting them up, but if someone else wants just a ROB, I'd love to get a Gyro set (my wife kindly misplaced my original set years ago... thanks honey).

@Norch: I remember my friend down the street getting Turbo with that Coleco driving wheel when I was a kid. We thought that was the coolest thing on the planet at the time.

First pickups of 2017!

I grabbed the first two at the local pawn on the cheap. I was happy to see that familiar little bee. Already tried the Wisdom Tree collection and it's pretty great. I've always wanted to play Sunday Funday. I now own all the Wisdom Tree games released, condensed onto a mere two carts. (the other is the Super Noah's Ark 3D rerelease)

I got this nice handful of titles with gift money. They were purchased at market price but I'm glad to have them. I'd be lucky to find any of these uncommons in the wild. Home Improvement fittingly has white paint speckles on it. (thanks eBay resellers!) Boogerman is a decent platformer that's unapologetically juvenile and I kind of love it.

Good luck with the rest of the year!

What a coinkydink! I tested out the steering wheel and gas pedal on Turbo. In fact, it was the first time I  fired up my ColecoVision since I bought it from SingleBanana a-year-and-a-half ago (works just fine so far, Nanners).  Sadly, neither wheel nor pedal worked at all; it doesn't help that the pedal cable is nearly severed right near the base.

Fortunately, I already had my own fully-functional wheel-&-pedal from the Nanners transaction, so no big deal there. Might be able to get some bucks back selling them for parts on eBay. Besides, I bought the controller lot primarily for the super-action controllers... which will need some serious cleaning in order to be more responsive.

Speaking of pedals: is your Miracle Piano fully operational now?

That reminds me of a Dreamcast controller. I wonder if there's a Dreamcast version too...

*Googles*

Yes, there is. It's not called Dominator 2 though... http://segaretro.org/Enforcer

You can see where they filled the VMU display space with a button on the PS2 one.
Strange how the triangle on the Dreamcast version doesn't appear to be the start button though. That's where it'd make most sense.

Yes... it has fully combined to form Devestator.

Hey Peeps, Remember me, I still exist ... it's been a while, I thought I would come back and grace the place up with my ... opossum-y presence??? idk ... anyway

first off lets start with the New stuff ... as in I really haven't gotten too much new stuff ... only games with boxes or empty box lots to get rid of loose games. here are my latest finds in the world.

The only additions I have are the following ... in about June, 2016 ... I was having a slump, like an "OMG If I don't buy a new game I'm going to die" slump ... so i did the unthinkable ... I sold my soul for an Xbox One (as in I actually sucked up my pride an bought it from GameStop ... MEHH) ... but it was the pretty Quantum Break Bundle!!

I for one ... am not to happy with it ... because I realized something ... I have bad net ... and having to wait 2 weeks nearly to complete an update just to play it really hurt me.

Other Things I got for the Xbox One I wont post pics of Because otherwise this will be VERY pic heavy by the end ... I got:

Back to the Future [30th Anniversary Edition]
Farming Simulator '15
Killer Instinct [Combo Breaker Pack]
Pac-Man Championship Edition 2
Plant's Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare
(also pre-ordered Yooka-Laylee for Xbox One)

Then I remembered something ... I have a Wii U and an Xbox One ... why not buy PS4 games for when I get a PS4 (idk why I did that) ... so i got for the PS4

No Man's Sky
The Last Guardian [Collector's Edition]
(Also pre-ordered Yooka-Laylee for PS4)

Then for some odd reason, I saw a post on Facebook about the VTech Socrates going up in price (is it true, Idk) so I went out and tried to complete my US library for it, but failed and bought a Canadian Copy of a game instead.

yayy??? does you love me nowsss?

Then I had another fail when I was looking at the barcodes to the games in my collection i ran across the "Not For Resale: Part of a Set" So ... after crying for an hour about how FML it has been (yes FML is now an adjective of my life) ... I found all the complete sets I need and got those so those are complete now ... then ... I got Centipede, sealed for ColecoVision so I no longer have that game loose... More is coming soon, stay tuned.

PS, I apologize for the long post, but it's been a while ... i couldn't possible add everything to this so I just added the highlights ... stay tuned for more ... Keep it opossum-y

I was at MAGfest last week, and, as cool as the show was, I went in thinking that if I got any good deals in the vendor room, it would be a miracle.  With retro game prices on the rise and MAGfest not necessarily a collector-focused show, I expected prices to be way too high for my tastes.

Well, I'm here to say that miracles do happen.

The scores:

Final Fight CD, Sega CD (disc and manual) $40

Sword Master, Famicom (complete) $10!

Power Blazer, Famicom (cart only) $25

Not as many games as I've bought at the MAGfest vendor room in the past, but definitely the highest quality.  Final Fight CD and a Famicom copy of Sword Master were games I wanted but never pulled the trigger on because of price.

Sword Master was my first score of MAGfest.  One of my favorite vendors had doubled down on import Nintendo stuff this year, and I looked over his selection of Famicom titles to see what his selection in prices were.  He had a small stack of boxed Famicom games in one of his cases.  Sword Master was peaking out at the very back with its title obscured.  I recognized the art style and, given the $10 price tag, I thought it would be a copy of Castle of Dragon/Dragon Unit.  I would still have picked it up if it had been Dragon Unit, when the vendor showed me the game and it was a boxed, complete Sword master, I bought it immediately.  While the box is a little rough from sitting in a Den Den Town window for two decades, the cartridge, manual, and inserts are all pristine.

I'm just sad I didn't get as good a deal as whoever paid 600 Yen for it in Japan.  Wink

The vendor that had Final Fight CD had a huge collection of Sega CD games for sale, including Snatcher and Popful Mail.  I didn't see a copy of Final Fight CD at first, but I kept checking back, just in case.  Well, on the last day of MAGfest, they finally put out Final Fight CD.  $40 was definitely in my budget, and it was a much more attractive offer than when my friend offered to let me buy his scratched up flea market Final Fight CD disc for $50.

Power Blazer wasn't a great deal compared to the others, but it was a fair price for a game I've been interested in for a while.  Plus, I felt good throwing a few bucks to the vendor I had scored my sweet complete Sword master from.  I had also planned to get Magic John and Kamen Ninja Hanamaru in a big lot on Sunday to strike a deal, but they had sold by the time I pulled the trigger.  Ah, well.

Now, from MAGfest's awesome and terrible Charity Auction:

Cirka GN6 controller, $5

Sealed Hyrule Warriors, Wii U, $30

I really like Hyperkin's controllers.  They are the only ones that feel anywhere as good as the originals.  When the auctioneers offered up GN6s to the first 10 people willing to spend $5 on charity, I had to get one.  That's just a good deal.  Plus, all my 6 button controllers are beat up and/or even worse third party imitators.

This copy of Hyrule Warriors is just a regular old sealed copy.  It's not signed, it's not festooned with MAGfest history, nothing like that.  However, $30 is just a good deal for the game.  It still sells for $40 used.  For $30, I'll add it to my growing Wii U collection.

And that's it for the games I bought at MAGfest.  I may do a blog post about all my non-game swag, but it will take some time.  Cheers!

This will likely be the last of the pickups for me (minus some Nintendo Switch goodness) until May (I don't collect while off at college....too much going on as it is.)

First off some random things I've gotten through trades.

- Airforce Delta 2
- Ecco The Dolphin: Defender of the Future
- Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver
- Fighting Force 2
- Trauma Center: Second Opinion
- New Super Mario Bros.
- WF No Mercy
- Solitaire & Poker

I drove an hour round trip through an ice storm for this pickup but I have a hunch it may have been worth it...

- Batman Forever
- Dennis the Menace
- Dungeon Master
- F-Zero
- Gradius III
- Illusion of Gaia
- Killer Instinct
- Secret of Mana
- Spawn
- Tetris & Dr. Mario
- Top Gear
- Wing Commander
- Zoop

This was also included....

- Silver GameCube (no power adapter but I wasn't going to complain)
- Silver GameCube Controller
- Memory Card
- Innovation brand SNES Controller
- Shrek 2

So what did I pay? $10.

I'll be back with more in May! In the meantime...keep it on Channel 3!
