Are you actually going to watch hockey next year or the year after that? They get payed millions of dollar's a year and still they want more....Any Sport that goes on strike I can't watch for a while, remember the Baseball and Basketball Strikes about 10 years ago. I'm finally started watching those sports again....

I doubt I'll dive back in enthusiastically.  I certainly won't be forking over any cash for tickets. I have no sympathy for either side and as is always the case with these things the fans are the biggest losers.

I will most likely watch. I'm curious as to the impact the cap will have on the game. The makeup of the league will drastically change. It will be interesting to see who ends up where and who stays. also to see who never plays again. the long layoff surely ended a few careers.

I doubt Detroit will suffer at all in fan support. Red Wings fans will flock back to the team. The teams with lesser fan support will probably be hurting even worse.

The NHL was not vastly popular nationally before the lockout. The screwed themselves good with this. They better suck serious ass with the fans if they want to survive. I just don't see that happening.

I have heard of this NHL you speak off...but I can't remember what it is.

I like what Manny Legacy said about the head of the NHLPA.

if players are speaking out against Goodenow it's a sure sign his days are numbered. I think it's safe to say the union has been broken.

That's all Rob Ray does is bash people.  |D

I wonder if the new cap will lead to a decrease in ticket prices?

As a Pens fan, I'm looking forward to this season now. It was looking pretty gloomy for a while, much like the last couple of seasons (come back Jaromir, all is forgiven!) but since adding Crosby, Palffy, Gonchar, Thibault, Recchi and now John LeClair (wow!) it's looking damn good indeed.

Now I just need to find some way of watching a few games over here.  In England, at least there was a show at least twice a week showing games (and pretty much every day in the Playoffs).  I'm not sure if they're exactly hot on hockey over here though, the biggest US sport seems to be Basketball.

the movement of players has been astounding thus far.

Forsberg from Colorado to Philly
Roenick from Philly to LA
Pronger from St Louis to Edmonton
Lindros from NYR to Toronto

hard to keep track of who is where.

No kidding.  It seems like the Red Wings are the only team that hasn't picked up some huge star.  Not that I blame them.  It's hard to pick up a big star like that when you have to cut your payroll in half.
