I know 2017 isn't quite done yet, but since my collecting goals were pretty much a bust, I want to get started on 2018:

1) Get two games I haven't played on the Atari VCS

2) Get two games I haven't played on the Intellivision (boxed if possible)

3) Increase my NES col. by exactly two (The Guardian Legend and Wizards & Warriors)

4) Console Upkeep 2018!
     a) New PS3 drive
     b) Fix SNES (or replace with Super Retro Trio, as the Multi-Out port might be dead)
     c) Fix Sega CD
     d) Fix Turbo CD
     e) New PSU for C64?
     f) Mod my sad looking PS2 Phat

5) Blinking Light Win?

6) (Inspired by Addicted's post below) Clean up and better organize my gaming area:
     a) Streamline main PC area (put gaming PC on projector?)
     b) Create satellite area for C64 and Apple II GS
     c) Get new AV switch for JVC?

NOTE: Near the end of 2018,  I can see that most of this years efforts were stymied by my purchasing a PS Vita, and more than likely next year as well (Switch?).  I don't know if I will make collecting goals for next year, but I think it will focus more on organizing and maybe an alternative video source (using a 27" 1440p now, as the projector was nice but ultimately not really feasible).

1. Buy the last of the unique console hardware I want. (There are 10 left.)

2. Buy two more Everdrives

3. Work on completing series of games. I've already started on Geomon for the Super Famicom.

4. Work on organizing game room and playing games.

well 2017 was a bust for collection goals, i didn't finish any. too many things going on. I did manage to get partway through updating my WTB list though, so i think finishing that will be my only goal for 2018. if i manage that relatively early i might add other goals, but for now i'll keep it simple.

My goals for 2018:

1. Get the last two licensed PAL A NES games (galaga, p.o.w.) in at least cart form
2. Upgrade more NES carts to CiB. I doubt I’ll ever get the complete set but the more the merrier. 20 or so more in 2018 would be nice
3. There’s 10 HES NES games I don’t have. It would be good to get at least 3 more in 2018
4. Get the last Pokémon mini game (tetris). If I complete this goal I can maybe then start the next micro complete set
5. After almost completing the NES set I’ve moved on to my childhood console the N64. Would be good to pick up another 50 (arbitrary number) and it would be good to have at least half of those CiB. Starting the year on 112 games

I’m also still umming and ahhing a complete Wii u set (though all the dance games etc are a bit off putting). So I’ll probably be getting more of these games throughout the year

Carrying some goals over from 2017, and adding a few more.

NES: 500 games total (Currently 534)
SNES: 200 games (Currently 182)
Famicom: 50 games (Currently 38)
Super Famicom: 50 games (Currently 23)
Nintendo Switch: 50 games (Currently 70)
TG16: Going to shoot for a total of 50 (Currently 26)
TGCD: 25 games (Currently 17)
PS1: 100 games (Currently 52)
PS2: 150 games (Currently 113)
PS4: 200 games (Currently 153)
SMS: 100 games total (including PAL) (Currently 82)
Sega Genesis: 100 CIB (Currently 51)
Sega 32X: 5 CIB (Currently 2)
Sega CD: 25 games (Currently 11)
Sega Saturn: 25 games (Currently 18)
Sega Dreamcast: 35 games (Currently 24)
Atari Jaguar: 20 games (Currently 17)

I would like to acquire an Atari Lynx. I will shoot for a total collection number of 1900, by the end of 2018.

Never got me a Little Samson or Flintstones 2 for NES, in 2016 or 2017. Those are still on my list for 2018, Along with some other expensive NES titles, like: Cowboy Kid, Swamp Thing, Power Blade 2, and Panic Restaurant.

*BIG EDIT*

After recently acquiring a loose copy of Little Samson, I have decided to embark upon the insane quest, of trying to get a 99.9% Licensed NA set of NES games. Currently at 70%.

[Updated 4/19/2018]

Hey now,

I'm afraid my collecting goals for 2018 aren't particularly ambitious. None the less, here they are:

- Attain a Nintendo Switch console after its first price drop, which I anticipate will happen some time this year.

- CIB copies of Shadow the Hedgehog for XBox and GameCube, so I'll be able to play my favorite guilty-pleasure game on all three Gen-6 home consoles. Original releases preferred, of course...

- CIB Arena Football for XBox, which will complete my collection of Arena Football console games... all four of them. Special thanks to MetalFRO the GameBoy Guru for the hookup on this one.

- Complete my collection of Skylanders Imaginators figures, which I anticipate will be going on deep-discount clearance later this year.

- Complete my CIB collection of generically-titled A1/AgeTec PlayStation-1 games.

- Hudson Hawk for Game Boy: Don't ask.

- Radio Shack Plane & Tank LCD handheld game: a fond memory from my middle-school years.

I honestly haven't put any thought into collecting in some time now. But I do have a lot I need to do, and since I want to be more involved this year, let's do this.

-Play more games. I really haven't made time to play much of anything in the last couple years, so that is top priority. Buy less, play more.

-Organize what I do have. I have hit a point where buying more games and collecting anything I can turn into profit has overcome my ability to actually keep track of what I have. I need to put more time into clearing out everything I have bought in the last couple years that I have always intended to flip, document everything I am keeping, and properly and effectively store or display it all.

Let's round all of my major systems up to the next major milestone:

-500 Gamecube (Currently 477)

-400 Xbox 360 (Currently 372)

-350 DS (Currently 302)

-350 PS1 (Currently 299)

-300 PS2 (Currently 252)

-200 Wii (Currently 175)

-150 SNES (Currently 130)

-150 NES (Currently 134)

-150 Xbox (Currently 114)

-125 N64 (Currently 107)

-100 3DS (Currently 63)

-100 Xbox One (Currently 19)

-100 SEGA Genesis (Currently 74)

-75 Wii U (Kind of a tall order given the state of this system at this time; Currently 38)

-50 PSP (Currently 39)

-50 Dreamcast (Currently 35)

-One or two more games for each of the Jaguar, Master System, 32X, Saturn, and SEGA CD.

-Find a/v cables for my Atari Jaguar so I can play it for the first time

-Find power supply and a/v cables for my SEGA CDX

-Amiibos: Cloud, Bayonetta, Corrin, finish LoZ series, finish Splatoon series.

-(Long standing, kind of extreme goal) Find a TG16 and at least one of the games I had for it growing up for nostalgia. (Keith Courage in Alpha Zones, Yo Bro, Bonk's Adventure, Magical Chase, TV Sports Basketball, Bomberman '93, or Splatterhouse)

My first goal is to finish adding my collection on here. I still have Ps1, SNES, and Genesis to go through. (Done)

Second, I would like to add my PlayStation collection to a total of 500 between the first 3 consoles.

Third, I want to find my two favorite games I played growing up CIB.
  Gunstar Heroes (Genesis)
  Goof Troop (SNES)

Get from 3,102 games to below 2,500 while still upping my NES collection. My one and only goal....

Already began the process, all NES Turbo Duo, Famicom and Jaguar games/systems already sold off. Next is the Atari and Intellivision stuff.

Realized this year my collection has blown up the past 5 years and there are many games I purchased just to say I have it, and will never get played. Time to make some room and some $$ in the process for Vacations! (Iceland this year, West Cost National Parks next!)

I'd like to go from 2700-ish items now to 3500 pieces by the end of the year.  I'd like to get within spitting distance (less than 100 games) of my complete US Game Boy set.  And I want to FINALLY buy an Atari Lynx this year, and get at least a handful of games.  I think I might try to shoot for a CIB Lynx game set.

Gotta Have Goals!

- Complete my Atari 5200 Collection - 9 left
- 1500 Games
-  If I finish my Atari 5200 Goal, might try    for a SMS full set or mop up on some subsets I have been trying to collect for awhile now.
