Basically I'm gettin this for RPGs and exclusives, not for online and other bullshit... Here's my current want list. I dunno what else to get offhand...

Dragon Quest VIII (this and Tales of Legendia are my reason for buying)
Star Ocean
Atelier Iris
Ys: Ark of Napishtim
Katamari Damacy
We Love Katamari
Gradius III & IV

Yup, not many reasons to buy a PS2 on my list there but those are about it. I would never have bothered if Namco would release Tales of Legendia on GC. It's all bout Tales dammit!

Silent Hill 2 is pretty cool. And I really liked Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance.

Well, the obvious games are Final Fantasy X and X-2, but you should also look out for Disgaea:  Hour of Darkness, Suikoden 3, 4, and Tactics, and Kingdom Hearts.

It's kind of expensive, but I'd say Guitar Hero.

tmk, although I don't own a PS2 (yet) there are a lot of exclusive fighters out there that are supposed to be pretty good. Tekken 5, Soul Calibur 3, and Virtua Fighter 4: Revolution come to mind.

Ohhh Gods of War. I have heard from everone that this is a good game. Makes me want to dust off the PS2 to play it.

I totally agree with the FF games and Kingdom Hearts.  Also, Metal Gear Solid 2, 3, and 4.

Check out Contra: Shattered Soldier.  Cool 2D Contra goodness.  I dunno if the new Castlevania is any good, but you may want to look into that as well.

Gun-Con games

Burnout games(though these can be had on other systems)

Ratchet and Clank was fun
Jak and Daxter was fun

Other than that the games that immediately come to mind have all been stated.

I don't know about Sly, but Castlevania is well worth the $10 price tag that it carries now.  It doesn't have the depth that the 2D games has, but it still has enough secrets to keep you looking for a while.
