No, not even close. I could be wrong though, but highly doubt it. It would be interesting to see a report list of how many games we're sitting at. If I were working for a video game company, I would keep track of how many of each particular game sold. It comes in handy for collectors. =)

Would you count homebrews? And would you count MODs? I am just curious were YOU would draw the line. What about shareware that didnt do so well, like if someone made a game and it sold less then say 50 units. And how would you count variations of the same game? Is Tetris 1 game or is it like 500 games?

It would be pretty intresting to know all this...

I think if you count every game for every system including variations you could be at a million.

Count all the random shareware, flash games, hacks homebrews, etc and definately over a million.

I believe Amiga has in the 13,000 area.
Commodore i think was 2x that?

EDIT
I could be wrong and C64 was at that number and i just thought of Amiga for no reason though...
But i am pretty sure Amiga had atound 13k

Here is how we should do it, if we really want to find out. Find lists and start adding them up. Or even general ball park figures. Examples

NES 800
PS1 1400+ last year when I worked at EB, probably 1500 by now.

Anyone up for this project?

Not me. |D That's a ton of games. I would never have the room for it all. I want a complete Sega Genesis collection & that's what I'm working on now.

@ Wrldstrman- Do you see yourself trying to collect every game ever made?

Million? No.

I would say that if you include every type of video game, and every mod then you are somewhere near the 100K mark. But it is purely a guess.
