I was playing this over in The Evil Leon's dungeon the other day, and it's actually pretty cool.  The sheer size of the city buildings and how many are rendered on screen at once really impressed me.  Spider-Man also has a LOT of really cool moves that make it waaaay too cool to just swing around the city, goofing around.

The missions are a little bit drab at times, especially since in the short time that I played it seemed like every single mission consisted of bashing a car and then beating up the bad guys when they get out.  Still, the more cool moves you get, the more fun you can have just screwing around with the bad guys.

Now, if only you could steal cars, drive them over pedestrians, get hookers in the park, and do drive-bys from cop cars, this game would be right up there by Vice City....  but that's a lot of "if"s.

Anyone else play this yet?

I just beat the main story and there is still so much more to do. It's kind of ridiculous. Some of the stunt challenges are so difficult I don't think I will ever beat them. There must be some kind of trick.

i love this game. the mission are EXTREMELY repetitive but it is fun to smash a bunch of guys together with webs and do massive combos, the missions where you are ambushed by about 10 thugs are the best, swinging really fast is fun too, and then falling off the tallest tower and waiting until the last possible moment to websling and almost hit the ground (sometimes actually touch it?)

Yes, you can touch it. You have to hit the button at the extreme last possible second. Spider-man will shoot a web and start to swing but the arc of the swing will take him into the ground. If you do it close enough to the ground it will look like he shot out a web and then just landed on his feet. It's pretty cool, but it's hard to do on purpose.
