The coupon in the @Gamer magazine you get form BB.  Which I thought was free as I ripped the coupon out in-store and proceeded to take the mag home...where I noticed the $4.99 price on the cover.   Oops.  They didn't charge me for it even through they saw me with it at the register.

You can also buy a year's subscription for $14.99.  I think it is worth it.  Here are a few of the games I've bought over the past few months using Best Buy @gamer coupons:

March:

Batman: Arkham City - $9.99
Rage - $4.99
Bulletstorm - $4.99
Mass Effect 2 - $4.99

April:

Final Fantasy XIII-2 - $14.99

May:

Dragon Age II - $4.99
Deadliest Warrior: Ancient Combat - $free
Soul Calibur V - $9.99
SSX - $9.99

It definitely pays for itself.

More of a "heads up" than a deal but MS announced yesterday that anyone running Windows XP, Vista, or 7 can upgrade to Windows 8 Pro for $39 when it comes out until January.  They also give you the option to do burn the ISO and do a clean install.  Whether you love or hate MS, $40 for the new Windows OS is a pretty good deal.

Totally agree.  They had a deal a few months back if you subscribed and pre-ordered Mass Effect 3, you got a $20 gift card so that one deal paid for the subscription and then some. Watch for deals that the Reward Zone Gamers Club (free to join) offers because they stack with the @Gamer coupons.

I believe it is only part of Electroplankton. As in only one mini game.

Special thanks to Shadow Kisuragi for letting me know about the following promotion:

Frito-Lay is offering "free" Skylanders Sidekick figures via a mail-in card in every "Flavor Mix" 20-mini-bag variety pack. Actually, you have to make out a check or money order for $2 to cover shipping.

There are four different figures, basically chibified versions of Trigger Happy, Stealth Elf, Terrafin, and Gill Grunt.

The card states that you have to "rank your choice below in order of preference" from 1 to 4, because "Frito-Lay cannot guarantee that you will get your (first) choice."

But the really weird thing is that you have to mail the card out... along with the UPC code clipped off the bag... and a check or money order... in an envelope with a first-class postage stamp affixed... and then wait for two months or more for the stuff to arrive... like you're stuck in the late 20th century and the modern internet is still a far-off dream.

Like this article from Kotaku states, "Frito-Lay's Handling the Skylanders Freebie Like it's 1980 or Something."

http://kotaku.com/5923818...ike-its-1980-or-something.

GameInformer.com isn't exactly optimistic about the whole deal, either:

http://www.gameinformer.c...f-could-crush-dreams.aspx

But, for better or worse, this is presently the only way to obtain the figures. And even if one doesn't get the figure(s) he prefers, the internet makes for a pretty good trading post if you know where to go. And you may just have to go this way, since there is a limit of 4 figures per household.

BTW Safeway has the Flavor Mix packs on sale for $5.00 each (regularly $7.29)... but only until midnight in the Pacific and Mountain time zones.

I went to Target yesterday and looked at all the flavor mix bags and none of them said anything about skylanders. Sad

Those are brought in by the Frito-Lay vendor.  They don't come in everyday, so you may have to check back another day.

Update on the Skylanders Sidekicks promotion:

The Classic Mix 20-packs have joined the promotion alongside the Flavor Mix bags.

I went to Target yesterday and looked at all the flavor mix bags and none of them said anything about skylanders. Sad

Well then, you'd better check back with them, because Target has 'em on special for $6.00 a pack.

Or are you not... hungry enough?  Grin
