Projekt Revolution

I went to the Projekt Revolution show in Detroit yesterday. The show started at noon but I didn't get there till after 2:00. The only second stage act I saw was Saosin. I'd never heard them before... not bad. I did see all the main stage acts. Julien K was allright, reminded me of a cross between Ministry and Depeche Mode. I thought Placebo and Him were rather dull. The singer of him seemed to think he was gods gift. Definately a pompous chap.
Talking Back Sunday was good. I'd heard several of thier songs before. My Chemical Romance played a rather spirited if somewhat sloppy set. Gerard Way was really raspy starting out but gained his voice by about the 3rd number. They closed with "Cancer" which was a rather downer song to finish with. I guess it shouldn't have been a surprise, Gerard seems a moody cat.
Linkin Park was outstanding. They played a very tight set. The music and vocals were all very clean. I'd read that they'd been getting upstaged by MCR but not last night.
The crowd was real tame. A lot of teenagers of course... but MANY with parents in tow. There were a few small mosh pits but as the show ended all the moshers shook hands and went their separate ways. I'd not seen that before.

Sounds overall like a good line up.
I haven't heard a lot of music from some of those artists.
Just enough to know i would have been interested in going.
Also i am surprised you said Linkin Park was outstanding.
In the past people haven't been overly thrilled with the way they sound live in comparison to the CD.

I would say something about how horrible Linkin Park and My Chemical Romance are, but I'm not going to. Instead I'll say, glad you had a good time.

I'm not going to even start on that one. Rap is just as good as any other musical genre, and I'm leaving it at that.

ok i will correct that. old school rap like dj jazzy jeff and the fresh prince, the fats boys and kid 'n play is music. rap now days it stuff like, kill snitches, fuck the police, sell dope and kill people. i can go on and on. that's not music it's shit.

I've seen Linkin Park live and they sound okay.
You kids all need to go to a GWAR concert though. You'll see something actually worth looking at.
