Honestly the way i see it is there are enough copies out there that you can buy a complete or even loose copy and save the sealed ones for hardcore collectors who try to get as much as they can sealed.
There are so many alternatives to opening it.
Why not just sell it to someone and take that money and buy a loose copy because it will be worth less than the sealed.

It is kind of a pet peeve of mine. Even worse is when i hear about people who just throw away their boxes and instuctions because they waste space.

Some what back to topic, how many O2 games are there?

There are also two homebrew games and one demo of pinball that was given away by Ralph Baer himself, so including those, there are a total of 52 (although I don't count the demo.  I consider it just that...a demo and not a true release).

I don't consider the homebrews as part of the library. But thats just me.

I only count the releases from back in the day as part of the O2 library. So 49 by my count.

I've opened about 35 sealed Atari 2600 games. Hey, I bought them to play them. None were rare, just the common stuff like Pac-Man and Pitfall. I did keep all the boxes and manuals for a while but once I got one of those plastic game & system cases I just tossed them. Besides, who needs a manual to figure out how to play Space Invaders or Asteroids?
