PLEASE, for the love of God. There is a difference between you're and your. Yes, you pronounce them the same, but you don't read them the same.

And the same goes for their, there and they're. If you use the wrong one, your post becomes intelligible.

If you use any of these words, and you know you suck at typing/spelling/grammar/proper thinking, please read through your post once again before you submit it. It won't take much time, but you'll look a lot less retarded.

Thank you.

Feel free to fill the rest of this topic with more typical mistakes, so the people that make these know they suck.

Lesson 1:

you're - contraction, you are
Example - you're awesome but not as awesome as I am.

your - typically used when speaking to someone about them (possesive)
Example - Is that your copy of EGM or mine? Your signature sucks, get a new one!

their - also possesive
Example - Their car is a piece of shit.

there - used when speaking of a location
Example - look over there! I went there once and it sucked.

they're - contraction, they are
Example - they're not the nicest people I know.

Now be good and STOP FUCKING UP now that you've been informed on proper usage Tongue

yesyes, unintelligible. I was already very happy with myself for writing intelligible without errors Wink.

And yes, I know I make mistakes, but 1, I'm foreign and 2, I try my best not to make the same stupid mistake over and over again.

Everyone makes mistakes and in most cases nobody will be attacked on it, but some mistakes are so stupid and made so often, that it annoys me, and several others here to no end.  If you honestly don't know the difference between you're and your and their, there and they're, you should be either 8 years old or retarded. Since most people on this board are neither, please think before you post.

I would find that more annoying than a misused word. Because that is done blatantly and looks stupid.
