All the news maps are cool, minus gemini. That map is terrible. Egolation or however you spell it is probably the best. Its way better then the one in halo 1.

Actually, I think Gemini is pretty cool. You have both indoor and outdoor areas, and the possibility of falling off the map outdoors if you're not careful. Plus the weapon set is balanced because it has 2 shotguns to just one sword. I also am a fan of the teleporters.

Terminal seems to be the most strategic of the maps. Not only does it have the high-speed train in the middle of the map to make taking the sword a very risky proposition, but a lot of sniper roosts and vehicles to make for a huge challenge!

Backwash seems to be a very well-thought out map for those that want the feeling of stealthiness due to the dense fog and dimly lit areas, but right now I'm undecided on it because it seems that there's not enough elevation points. I do like that the "laser" (I forget its actual name) is included in the default weapon set, though.

Relic and Elongation seem solid. Relic has some fun touches with the ability to open up a teleporter. It seems to be best designed for team games. Elongation looks like a jump-fest map to me; my first impression is that it doesn't seem all that strategic...get some grenades, stay elevated, throw grenades at opponents down below, pounce, repeat. Ho hum. I hope I'm wrong, though. At least it doesn't appear that there's a sword on the level...which is a very good thing.

Since they're not available on matchmaking for competitive play on xbox live yet, we should all be on even ground if we get together to play on the 12th.

Den, you'll be glad to know that a couple of these maps have turrets on them. I know how much you enjoy picking us off from range.  Cool

Iz, I certainly didn't mean to rile you up. I was basically just putting in my $.02. No offense.

You guys should be able to take den off a turret with a few well aimed BR shots or a sniper rifle.

And don't worry about it Pheonix i think you took me a bit to seriously. I am a lighthearted fellow.

Unless I'm missing something (which is entirely possible), it seems to me that it takes a lot of shots from a BR to take someone down. DWielding seems to be a much better option, especially if you can grab a PP.

If this isn't true, then maybe someone can explain the advantage of using the BR...

3 head hots kills them.
5-7 bodys shots kill i believe.
The BR rewards those with good aim.

Plasma pistols are an all around good weapon. One headshot with that and a few headshots with any weaps and you killed your target.

Iz, what Looks Sensitivity number do you use? Obviously a lower # will provide more accuracy, but at the same time, the cam will rotate slower. I've had trouble getting in head shots, but I've been using around a 6...too high?

I've never played with anything but the defaults. Do adjustments make that big a difference?

I started with 5, moved up to 10. I dropped it back down to 4, I have between 50-65 percent hit in every game now.

I use 7.
Some people are more "agile" with there thumbs.
Some people feel that 5 is too high and others will feel that 5 is way to low.
It is really a matter of preferance.

I have mine at 7 because it was high enough were i could change views in a decent speed and still be able to control my shots without just going out of control.
I could probably turn it up more now though...

I suggest you leave your sensitivity where it is Pheonix. Play enough with it there and you will get use to it. In the long run it is more worth it for you to be higher up than lower down.
Besides you don't have to be conservative and always go for headshots Wink

BTW if Den was wondering i am pretty sure the default is 3.

It definitely affects play. The higher the look sensitivity, the faster and more drastic the camera will move when you're not in the heat of battle, but the drawback is that your target reticule will also move around much faster and affect your accuracy.

As Iz mentioned, it's really just a matter of personal preference.
