That is great! Smiley

Chicago looks dangerous, those skyscrapers are so close to the water. ninja

Miami too.

A skyscraper falling into water isn't going to be that much worse off than one falling onto land.
Unless you're a fish.

The arch in Saint Louis is the coolest landmark among all of those pictures.

His picture of Washington D.C. is by far the worst one, but that's because you're not allowed to fly there...right?

The reason for DC being so... short is because nothing can be taller than Lady Liberty, who stands on top of the Capital Building. The torch is THE highest thing in DC. It's just a tradition that everyone follows. I don't actually think it's a law, but the building counsel 'might' not approve of a building over this height.

"...in Washington, D.C. since 1910, no building can be more than 20 feet (6m) taller than the width of the street on which it sits, allowing the Washington Monument to remain the tallest building." - http://en.wikipedia.org/w...i/Height_restriction_laws

Obviously, before 1910 there weren't any building taller than the capitol, but now it is a law that they cannot be.

I just don't like the feeling of such a tall building standing right next to water.

This shit sickens me. Goes to show what under-educated people can and will do if given the slightest chance. In the end the government will just have more control.

I'm all about resisting a government if it has gone to extremes, or is impeding my rights, but this is just a bunch of douchebag kids destroying the innocent infrastructure of their own country over nothing.

Some nice photography though.

This is the first I've heard of the riots in Greece, but it seems like most of the "protesters" are just using the shooting of the kid as an excuse to burn and destroy stuff.
This pic is my favorite:

http://www.boston.com/big.../12/2008_greek_riots.html
Those kids had it coming. It's always like that. Know how you don't get shot? Don't protest!

Protesters can bully/tempt/defy police as much as they want, but when a warning shot accidently hits one of the protesters, that policeman is suddenly the son of the devil.

And because of the (unfortunate) death, those other thousands of people suddenly get the right to start destroying privately owned property like cars, banks, etc??? (And throw molotovs! Shocked)

Idiots that destroy valuable infrastructure don't get my sympathy.

You have the story wrong. Supposedly, the kid that was killed was just 'there'. The rioting was caused BY his death. He himself didn't actually riot.

It's actually quite safe. It is Lake Michigan, so it is (basically) unaffected by tides and such.
