Very nice. What do one of those set you back?
$1,500,000/£850,000. But it costs VolksWagen about £5,000,000 to build.

I have a hard time believing that it cost that much to make.

I looked it up, and it's technically right and wrong. The cost to build each car is less than that but the cost of the project divided by the amount of cars they'll make is estimated to be about £5,000,000. Someone's twisted the truth at some point to make each car sound even more expensive.

Oh you mean the research and development that went into the car as well?

Yeah. To the people buying the car it costs £850,000.

But someone must have thought it would be good to use shock tactics in their journalism by working out the total amount that has gone into the project; research, development, manufacture etc then using that to decide the cost per car. It sort of makes sense but no one would use that method to work out the cost of anything else.

edit: Ahahahaha! I just read that this guy took the keys to the car on the 28th of February this year and crashed it three days later! What a pillock.

^Actually, thats how the cost of EVERYTHING is determined.  If you don't include the amount you spent to prototype the product, then you will not make money off of it.

I love when pigeons fly into our window. They're so stupid.
