What is it again?

The most useless device ever.  The class exists to give us experience with designing printed circuit boards and some additional experience programming microcontrollers.  Most people in the class choose to do something simple, which is what we did.  This is just a battery charger, a smart battery charger, but a battery charger none the less.  It is designed to charge anything from 1.5V to ~30V, and it will follow pre-programmed charging patterns depending on what type of rechargable battery is connected (lithium-ion all the way down to lead acid.)  It also has a built in web server, but we are strugling to make that "useful."  (It works fine, but we are having trouble coming up with things the website should do.  You can change settings through it and display information about the last charge, but that isn't really justification enough for the webserver in my mind.)

I wish we were doing something a little more interesting, but sadly thats it.  There are two groups doing autonomous vehicles, one with GPS guidance.  Another group is making a portable stereo that will interface with iTunes over a local wireless network.  Another group is making a steerable speaker (but we have never seen them in lab.)  One group is making a cell phone locator (triangulates a cell phone from three ground-based antennas.)

Vodka teleporter?

I wish.
In the past people have done:
a smart kegerator: http://cobweb.ecn.purdue....Webs/S06-Grp04/index.html
a smart drink mixer: http://cobweb.ecn.purdue....Webs/S03-Grp02/index.html
(And I'm sure there would be more if this class was older than three years.)

I saw some guys that had built a robot for a class.

It was a mass of machinery whose only ability was to roll around.

I felt sorry for it.

I can't believe it's been almost two years since this was taken.

That's a good one, apart from the slightly random single lense flare.

Mum got a new camera today so I took a few badly pointless shots to test it. It's good up to a point of zooming in. First one is scaled down to 750px wide. The second one is full size then cropped to 750px.

The Bluebells are out in the woods now so we've got some good pictures of them. I'll go look for them.

Edit:

Wow, those photos of the bluebells are beautiful, James. In Ohio, underbrush is limited to green anything, and even then some woods and forests don't have underbrush.
