Not sure if there was intentions on keeping away from arcade hardware, but if there isn't, then could the Sega ST-V be added? It was released in 1995 and used ROM cartridges, much like the MVS. I'm not sure in what regions it was all released, but it definitely made it to North America and Japan.

There are currently intentions of keeping generic "arcade" out of the database due to lack of staff members to support it - certainly not lack of interest. Grin
MVS was added since it was cartridge-based.

I don't see why not on adding it to the database, since it fits that particular rule. I'll let ApolloBoy sound back on this topic on whether to add it or not, as he took the original initiative to add the cartridge-based arcades to the DB originally. List of cartridges here, and confirmed for North America/Japan:

*bump*

Just came in here to ask this very same question.  Only game I own other than flash carts and repros (which I would not expect to able to add anyway) that I'm unable to add is an ST-V game (and the motherboard).

I understand MVS is a bit of a special case in that it seems EVERYONE knows the MVS... but there's Atomiswave entries too, and there's significantly more games for the ST-V than the Atomiswave.

It's not really a big deal if it's not added, but I think it'd be cool.

Edit:  We also have Taito F3, but no CPS2, PGM, or Hyper Neo Geo... all of which are cartridge-based arcade boards.  I'm sure I'm forgetting some too.

I know there are other several other threads that i didn't turn up.

Questions about arcades in 2006(there had been requests previously as mentioned) answer is no with a "for now" addendum
http://www.rfgeneration.c...um/index.php?topic=2777.0

2007 arcade database is added to the "white board" (to do list) of a man with too much to do and not enough time. States it would be unprofessional looking to have arcades listed in the gamesand/or hardware DB
http://www.rfgeneration.c...um/index.php?topic=4901.0

Fast forward 6 more years. Someone added a bunch of arcade systems to the games database. Users want more arcades tracked still no word on the further implementation of a new database.

Considering we have much of the cart-based arcade systems in the DB (which can be somewhat easily consolized), the ST-V isn't much of a stretch.

He doesn't have the ability to create a proper home for the arcade systems. Wink

As i said before (AGES ago) i am not against tracking them by any means.
But like many other things they need to be properly implemented.

I'd like to see several new DBs (digital, magazines/books, arcades) but my endless wishing alone isn't going to make it happen.

Since the hardware DB made its debut i've been less than thrilled at how it was implemented but i have always been glad we had it.

EDIT
Apollo ninja-ed me.

Would you mind adding the ST-V then Apollo? I'm not as familiar with the arcade hardware. Obviously, there won't be a new DB for this, nor are we going to split the DB to support it as the work necessary should go to properly supporting it instead of continuing the hack we started with hardware.

It is safe to add ST-V as Software type.
Sega ST-V is, just like SNK Neo Geo MVS, actually 2 things.

1: The IO-hardware (read: Console)
2: The cartridge (read: Software)

In the "Arcade PCB's" thread (http://www.rfgeneration.c...um/index.php?topic=7093.0) I will be proposing how to add Arcade PCB's to the Hardware Database without adding another database. The current hardware 'hack' as you call it, will suffice just fine.

Any updates here? Also the request to open European entries to be allowed for Taito F3 System (I's F3 in Europe and not Cybercore). Got my first euro game for my collection.

About adding are arcade games in general, as I am mainly moved over to arcade gaming since buying a nice candy. I am willing to control the supervising the arcade part fo the database and check the submissions once a week.
