All the new features are great and being able to use the Amiibo without purchasing an add on is a plus for me. Just seems confusing again with all the models out now. I'll be trying to madly scrounge up some cash now before Smash Bros comes out.

right i forgot to mention that part, which is really cool. no need to buy some dumb portal thing like with skylanders if it's integrated into the system.

agreed the models are getting ridiculous though, hopefully it doesn't confuse people too badly, but other than that i love it.

Looks great! I'm glad I waited to buy a 3DS.

The small size of the extra analog stick dealie is a little off-putting to me, but I do dig the more consistent 3D effect and the automatic brightness adjustment. I'm not too hip with the MicroSD slot, though; I've come so close to losing my MicroSD card on a couple occasions from it being so small. But then, that's probably what they had to do to accommodate all the other new features and keep the memory-expansion feature.

I just wonder when this will hit stateside. Maybe Black Friday? In any case, when it does, they'll likely release a Super Smash Bros. bundle with a few of those Amiibo figures...

I'm with ya on the portal thing; the space I could free up by eliminating those, lemme tell ya. I can see the built-in portal becoming a standard feature on the next generation of consoles... if there is a next generation of consoles. 'Course, the Skylanders and Disney Infinity people will likely balk at consoles adding a universal portal that works with all figures to replace their proprietary ones that only work with their figures.

I'd totally grab that; the DS/3DS Skylanders games are actually quite good. Not sure ActiVision would go for having their figures work with a universal integrated portal piece, however. I'd love it if they did, though; it can be a real pain in the ass for my 3DS to sense the portal when I try to link them, even when they're practically touching one another.

Well... Just when I'm really considering driving out and buying a 3DS and a couple games in the next week this news comes out. I think I'll just wait a bit longer and get this new 3DS XL!

This is awesome news. I am all about smash bros, and have yet to buy a 3DS, this will be the one it seems. That C-stick is exactly like the CGN Controller and seems it will work in the same way. Since they are releasing a peripheral for the new Smash Bros. Wii U to allow you to play with GCN controllers, this only makes sense to do it here as well.

I have a 3DS XL, which I traded up from a regular 3DS. I love the system, but it's going to take some amazing titles to get me to upgrade again. I'm taking a wait and see on it.

Xenoblade Chronicles remake is only going to work on this new one. The faster CPU is the kicker there.

That C Stick seems too small to be comfortable to use. Until Nintendo forces me to upgrade to the New 3DS I'll stick with my black 3DS XL.
