Hi,

I've been unable to nominate this game into the database because the system is telling me that this particular game already exists in the database for this title (see above), on this console (PS2), in this region (North America), however while the entry does exist in the database, it is for the 'Greatest Hits' edition, but not the original stock release.

In other words, there is no findable entry for VF4: Evolution in this region for the non-Greatest Hits PS2 version.  And the system currently won't let me nominate it for entry.  Any help with this?  Thanks!

There's a non-GH PS2 version of Evolution?

I don't think there was. I am pretty sure VF4 was released worldwide, then FV4:Evolution as a GH stand alone since it was basically just a Patch and DLC in terms of differences from the original. It was budget priced since the differences between it and the original release weren't too different.

Does anyone know if it was released as a regular retail title outside of NA?

Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution was only released as a "Greatest Hits" release, based off the original Virtua Fighter 4 release. Another notable title that was released in this fashion is Battle Arena Toshinden 2 Plus for Sony PlayStation in Japan.

Trivia that I had left on the page a while back. Wink

There are a lot of Japanese examples as well. Typically, it's done for re-releases that contain updates and/or DLC.

Ah, thanks so much for clearing this up for me, folks.

In case you're wondering, many of my games are packed up, and sometimes I'm too lazy to seek out a single title.  Naturally, I assumed there was a non-Greatest Hits version prior...  Thanks again.
