Looks like I'm alone with the speedrun thang...

Btw I NEVER get tired of this music.  SO GOOD.
You're not alone, I just haven't started yet Smiley

Am I alone in the mega buster-only challenge or the no e-tank challenge?

Im already ahead of you with the no e-tank challenge.  You don't really need em when the robot masters go down in a couple hits with their weakness weapon (For MM2 at least).

Now a Mega-Buster only + No E-Tank challenge, that I can get behind Smiley

Love it. I just wish that the artist didn't double-up on the Metal Blade and just hit Flash Man with the Crash Bomber.

I also wish the poster didn't quadruple-up on the post  Tongue

I'm trying to do a mix of a speed run, mega buster-only, no vehicle, and no e-tank. (normal difficulty)

It took me 62 minutes to get to Wily's Castle. I doubt that's very fast. Heatman's disappearing blocks cost me a 3 lives. Other than that, I think I only died 2 other times.

Any favorite MM2 tunes?

Dr. Wily's first stage has been covered a million times and is probably the most popular song from the game. While I do like that song, I'm gunna pick a few less known (less covered) tracks.

My top 3 is probably

Air Man
Flash Man
Bubble Man

If I was forced to pick a dud, it would be Crash Man (but it's still not a bad song).

Put in a little work on MM3 this morning before the family woke up...... Knocked a few of the extra stages before Dr. Wiley's castle.

I was finally able to get started on Mega Man 2 yesterday.  I made it through all of the stages except for Quick Man, but I'll tackle it again today.  I had a hard time with the laser things that come out from the sides of the screen.  I'll have to figure out the pattern and the optimal route to take.

Like I said earlier in the thread, my experience with the Mega Man games is very limited.  While I have played them a little bit here and there, this is really the first time I've ever sat down and put in a serious effort to play through any of these games.  It's cool to finally see what all the fuss is about.

Stuck on Wily Castle in Mega Man 2.  May try to clear the frustration by jumping to Mega Man 3 for a bit.

The music in Mega Man 2 is my favorite video game music of all time. So diverse and well done, and every track is distinct and matches well with each stage.  I'm not sure if any of the rest of you are NA members and took advantage of this some time ago:

Is that still available?  I had read about it, but never saw where I could order one, or who released it?  Would LOVE to have that in my collection.  I'm partial to MM3's soundtrack as well, perhaps moreso, but MM2's score is brilliant.
