The goal of this thread is to document a comprehensive list of extras included inside the packaging of standard video game releases. These things tend to get lost but aren't always documented online or sometimes not even listed on the packaging despite most of the time being really novel, cool, worth preserving, or sought after by collectors.

Notes:
  • Region is color coded. (NA - EU - JP) (country specifics for Europe will be listed if known)
  • Releases confirmed to have extras in first print runs only will be followed by a "FP".
  • Please feel free to add to the list! This will be a perpetual work in progress.
  • If you have any pack-in items on hand, please feel free to submit photos or scans to our database under “extra media” on the game’s page.

NOT tracked in this list:
  • Special/Collector's/Starter Edition merchandise (will be too much stuff to possibly list here. special editions also seem to be better documented in general.)
  • Controllers (rhythm game peripherals etc. - too many/well documented. I will list some neat ones though.)
  • Manuals, precaution booklets, player's guides, registration/survey cards, etc. (again, way too intricate for this list and not always exclusive to one title)
  • Pre Order bonuses (if it didn't come packaged inside, it won't be added. maybe someone, somewhere, can make their own list of these.)
  • Controller/screen overlays for older systems (Odyssey, Vectrex, Intellivision. I'm assuming these are well documented too.)
  • Amiibo bundles (search "amiibo" on our site and sort by software entries)
  • Ads (not so much an extra, as it is snuck in there by publisher/not sought after)
  • Movie Tickets (always says on the box - find these variants easily by searching “movie” in our database
  • Non-title-exclusive publisher posters/catalogs
  • Inserts, twist-ties, baggies, parts of packaging etc.

Investigating
  • Tonic Trouble PC - the PC version would have supposedly come with a promotional package of Newman’s Own brand microwaveable popcorn, as reported by legacy gaming sites. There is no visual proof of this actually happening however. The game’s history of delays (even rendering cross-promotional mail-in rebates for the PC version expired before it even released) makes this unlikely
  • Order Up! - game comes with a paper hat but it is unknown which consoles got it (PS3, Wii or 3DS)

I think I’m going to limit discs to non-game content.

Rad Racer on the NES came with vinyl 3D glasses.
Have this myself but somehow forgot.

List it up to date. I think I've reached the limit of what I know off the top of my head. TVtropes has a good page on this though that I need to have a look through.

I don't have any additions to the "feelies" list in mind (yet), but I do encourage anyone who has any in their possession  to take some nice clear pics of them and submit them to the RF Gen database under extra media. Thank you for your consideration.

'Scuse.
